Now correct me if I'm wrong but federally in the US their are just two main political parties right? Republican and Democrat. I began wondering whether the American way of two parties having all the power is really that good compared to other countries where more parties are involved.

In Canada for example we have four parties with seats in Government. The Conservatives (Minority leaders) , The Liberals (The main opposition), The NewDemocrats (Secondary opposition) and the Bloc (Seperatists). Now right now we have what I would consider the best possible Government, a minority. Which means that the Government needs to work with the other parties to get anything accomplished.

Now in Canada and elsewhere if a Government does not win a majority it has several parties to work with. But in the US if the democrats or Republicans win a minority they are sitting ducks because neither party can control Government without the others help.

So I was wondering would you rather see more political parties in power in your country? Or less?

I would love 2 or 3 more political parties!
