What? You guys need to calm down. To honestly think that a third party dev will go from making lots of money for multiplatform games to going exclusive is stupid. Think about it, like some of you 360 fanboys said about DMC 4, multiplatform games make more money.

Who cares about what Jack Tretton says anyways. Do you think Activision will go exclusive just to prove a point? Be realistic.

You're missing the point. Tretton's job is to help Sony, not to turn people against them. Businesses are driven by money, but good will plays a part, and Sony's executives are certainly not getting any people to like them with declarations like this.

The question is, why did this retard give a polite version of "fuck off and mind your own business" to a company which can help them in their fight?

Good way of explaining that NJ5 to Peter...

I would encourage everyone to read the full interview. There was a lot of information in there, far beyond what Xyrax highlighted. For one thing, Tretton again confirmed again that Sony is sticking to its goal of selling (to retailers) 11m PS3s by the end of this fiscal year. The interviewer also asked some pretty harsh questions, which Tretton dodged/spun in typical PR fashion. Like I said, it's worth your time to read.

And speaking more bluntly about Kotick, he said if the Activision CEO didn't appreciate the way Sony is currently running its PlayStation business, "maybe he should design a platform.

Im not even going to touch this one. I agree with Tretton on alot of what he said, but WOW at the red section.

What an A-hole.  That is like if someone questions some aspect of how free America really is and some says "love it or leave it."  There is no logic behind such a statement.  It is pure emotion and something that someone of any rank at a major company should ever say.

Because he knows that Activision won't do anything about it. CoD 4 is selling very well on the PS3 and I highly doubt they would do anything as stupid as being exclusive to one platform when they are seeing success on both. He just said what was on his mind.

Will it hurt their relationship in the future? Maybe. But i'm a gamer, I could care less. They will publish games for my PS3, I will buy them, they will make money. That's it.

Nice stuff:

Tretton: The only two consoles ever that had lifecycles of more than 5 years were published by us*

(*That is if you start looking from 2000 onwards, I guess)

Tretton: We really like our supply situation right now

veeeeeery nice stuff.

Activision won't drop Sony support... There is no way they can generate their current revenue with only Wii/DS/360/PC.

Of course there isn't. I cant see Activision making any currently planned multiplatform game exclusive to the 360 or removing any from the PS3. That said, comments like these make it easy to say yes to future exclusive games when Microsoft comes knocking.
