I am risking a ban now, but I have to say that I tried to strike out my erroneous considerations from two posts up by editing the post (which I first quoted without noticing, hence the double post), but when saving it didn't save the text as I wanted it to.
What I wanted to say is that after looking more carefully I saw that you were in Arcade time trial mode. My Bad.
It isn't too narrow for racing. The actual Nurburgring 24 Hrs endurance has up to 200 cars participating at each moment. Even with the total length of over 20 Km, it's enough to have some fierce competition for places, in each category.
It is hard to master though, and it's not a track that everyone can get right, as it demands insane amounts of concentration to pull off a successful lap.
I love this track, and with the inclusion of the X2010 and the 24 Hrs layout, it has been made more exciting than ever to race in it.
Actually, I went back to it and managed to lower my fast lap to 4:48.235, almost 34 seconds faster than my former best lap, and there's still some seconds to be shaved of that time, as I did three slight mistakes.
Here's the lap:
OMFG that's fast. I bet that after you do a hot lap of these, you can catch flies with chop sticks no problem. The hand animation is weird though, but who cares.
Ah, you should try this in arcade time challenge mode with full damage on, cause you did hit the side pretty hard one time, that might have caused some issued. Or am I just tasking out of my ass here? Is the damage on?
Edited: Hurrah for looking after speaking... I humbly apologize.
Yeah, I'm planning on going back and doing it. You were right, I didn't have the mechanical damage on, and those nasty bumps took a bit out of my time.
With my current sector planning, I think I can get to 4:38. Also, i'm going to try it with the HUD off, since it's pretty pointless to have it due to not using the map, as the reaction time for the X2010 is too damn low to even consider looking at the map.
