Wow, not only are Valve supporting the PS3, but in doing so they're making buying the PC version of the game pointless (if you own a PS3). Gabe Newell would be rolling in his grave if he were dead but since that's not the case he's probably rolling in Sony's money.

the PC version will probably be cheaper tho.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I don't understand why is it so exciting for people. Sure it's cool but it hardly matters in the big picture.

PC/MAC version should be $10 cheaper. And I doubt Sony is giving him any money.

I was just about to make a post about this haha. It's good to see Valve stepping up and supporting the PS3 as much as they are with this title. Who would have thought the company who pretty much called the PS3 a disgrace would turn around and make the definitive console version of one of their big titles.

Here's hoping we'll see a debut for L4D in the near future. Trilogy anyone??

Eh. You can always find new release console games $10 off at launch. I'm buying LittleBigPlanet 2 tomorrow for $83 AUD (RRP: $109 AUD)! With PC games it's harder because the big chains don't stock them and places like EB/Gamestop always charge full RRP. And you'll have to wait for the price to go down on Steam.

So really, there's no reason for me to even consider the PC version.

I called this back at E3. Sony is signing their own death warrant.

Valve doesn't care whether you own PC/Mac/PS3 and soon Wii (2?).

It will start with Valve games and slowly other publishers will join in. Soon, if you want the best version of a 3rd party game with digital copies for each system you own, you'll have to link it to your Steam account.

Once Steam gets rolling, only one publisher will have a strong enough first party library to distinguish itself.

Nintendo Steam

v

Sony Steam

v

MS Live

Valve are gonna thrash MS and Sony at the '3rd party exclusive game' that they enjoy playing so much.

Karma, I love it.
