Forums - General - A question about preordering from Amazon

Okay, so I'm preordering a DS game from Amazon. It should come next month but I have it on 'super save shipping' and the estimated time seems way, way too late for me (Not sure if I'll have the patience to wait 5-8 days once the game is out in stores).

I was wondering, when pre-ordering a game, does the estimated time of delivery really matter? Won't they ship it the same time as the other copies so isn't it likely to arrive earlier anyway or am I solely jumping to conclusions because of a misguided view I have on the estimation of pre-order delivery?

There is no 'release date' delivery option for this game, though. Rather disappointing...

I believe it differs. I have never pre-ordered a game through Amazon but I have read about people getting their copies up to a day early or so in some cases. So I don't know if Amazon will ship your product on launch day or ship it early to arrive on launch day.

To be honest I don't like the idea of waiting for my game when I can pick it up in stores. Why bother just pick it up at your local game shop.

Amazon US Super Savor Shipping usually arrives before the Estimate Date for me. I have had a consistently good experience with ordering from them.

whenever i pre order with free shipping i always get it 2-3 days later. release date shiping is only 99 cents though

this. I get stuff from amazon all the time and it is always there before the estimated delivery date.

The Amazon UK is horrid for pre orders, some people have paid additional costs and still didn't get it on release day. Can't comment on the Amazon US though, but I'd imagine it would be rather similar, check out some of the recently released games, Blops in particular, at the bottom there is internal game forum, if there are people bitching about delivery then the problems are similar.

I didn't have a 'release date' shipping option for this product...
