As long as there's an emblem on his chest and the mask looks okay (and sometimes, even when it doesn't), people accept that it's Batman. Now as a huge comic book geek, this guy looks more like the real Spider-Man (started when he was 15 years old) than Tobey McGuire ever did. You see, this is supposed to be a reboot of the origin story. As much as I liked the older movies (even SM3--and are those movies even old?), there were some seriously hokey parts to them. I'm hoping they fix some of the issues that I've personally had with the movies. As long as the mask looks good, then it's Spider-Man. The "Belt Line" and the gloves? Semantics. Wizard voted Spider-Man's costume the best Superhero costume of all time, a few years back. Out of all of the Golden/Silver Age heroes (I'm pretty sure Spidey's from the Silver Age), his original costume probably holds up the best. But look at the older costumes. Not to many of them hold up to the test of time. People's idea of cool and fashionable tend to change. It happens. Go with it. Compared to some of the other movie butcherings of costumes (everything from Steel to Kick Ass) this one actually looks like an improvement to me. Now, I just hope the movie is good. |
Bah, you just like the fact that they eliminated the belt so Spidey has a giant arrow pointing down at his junk.
