What do you think?

First rule for Move sales: You don't talk about Move sales.

Sorry if I'm confused but is Mao Zedong running vgchartz now?

Do you think the 4.1 million shipped covered Christmas holiday?

I personally think sony has shipped 6-7 million ps3 moves

But that doesn't explain why the stand-alone Move controller ($49.99) is out of stock 90% of the time at AMAZON and Walmart

Yea I was actually wondering if anyone at all would get the reference. Looks like noone did.

Edit. nvm 1 guy actually got it, woohoo

Don't expect an update on Move sales anytime soon.

Sony has now issued a response to the December and year-end NPD sales data, and while it's clear PS3 didn't fare too well against Xbox 360 during the holiday season, Sony and PS3 owners have plenty to look forward to in 2011. Unfortunately, if you were looking to get new PlayStation Move sales numbers with the NPD update, Sony has again avoided providing that.

Here's the NPD reaction:

"Since PlayStation Move was introduced in September, millions of consumers and gamers have joined the PlayStation family.  The key to Move's long-term success is developer and publisher support; enabling PlayStation to offer the most diverse line up of motion and 3D games. The combination of innovative hardware and a relentless line up of blockbuster titles is why the PS3 is perhaps the only console that grows more valuable over time. As we come out of the gates in 2011, PlayStation is brimming with new games to whet the appetite for all gamers, like next week's highly anticipated launch of LittleBigPlanet 2, which received top scores. And right around the corner, Killzone 3 is positioned to set a new standard in hardcore gaming as the first AAA title to utilize both 3D and Move functionality," said Patrick Seybold, SCEA's Sr. Director of Corporate Communications.

"According to the December NPD, PlayStation is the only console company to show year over year software growth with an impressive 32% increase in its sales. Since launching four months ago, PlayStation Move has introduced 50 supported titles, with close to 20 titles still on the horizon, underscoring PlayStation's steady expansion of software titles to create what is without doubt the most exciting line-up of motion control gaming options available to consumers today. We look forward to the year ahead as we continue to deliver the kind of compelling, innovative and diverse content experiences that have kept the PlayStation brand synonymous with premier entertainment for over 15 years."

Hey guys, PizzaFaceGamer doesn't have the best rep around here and I too thought this was a stealth troll thread.  But reading the OP and his other statements here, it seems genuine.  So how about we give him the benefit of the doubt with this one?

OT: Sony and MS don't tend to announce numbers that don't make them look good.  Move numbers in comparison to Kinect numbers probably don't look great (considering when it was released), so they'll probably avoid giving them unless they have to.

That being the case, do they HAVE to give them within their financial report?

It breaks my heart that Sony doesn't want to content its most sincere and devoted fan!

Sony only reports good news. If its bad or mediocre news they won't rush out to report it.

Tease.

Dear Sony : Please tell me how badly the Move has sold compared to Kinect so I can troll it in the internet.

who cares bout move 2010 sales no one on here really hyped it for that year its yrs are 2011 and beyond with games like KZ3, LBP2, SOCOM4, Oddworld Stranger's Wrath, PlayStation Move Heroes, and Sorcery

go pick on something ur own size like Oct-Dec HW shipment numbers

also lot of kinect hype but u got to remember besides all the ads for it that its also bundle with 2 HW skus $399 and $299 and my believes are that about 55% of kenict sales are from the HW bundles compared to about 20% of moves total sales from its $399 only HW move bundle, that would mean that only about 3.3M WW have been sold stand alone since Nov launch that averages to 330k a week during the holidays

                                                                      Play Me

Nah I think its better if they dont cause if they update their numbers again you and others are gonna cry overshipped again for months.

BTW, Sony now knows that MS, despite improved enormously in a lot of other things, and king in marketing, did some mistakes in logistics, so Sony won't release shipment data often enough to let MS learn anything from them without having to go the hard way. It could instead try to mislead it, and now that Nintendo has been frontally attacked by MS, with Balance Board heavily hit by Kinect where it wasn't bundled, it could do the same too.
