I was orriginally going to bumb the first mod appreciation thread but I gave up on looking for it after page 5.
Anyhow, I just thought, with all the seemingly sourness about mods on the boards right now, that it would be nice to have a thread that appreciated what they do.
I personally do not have a lot of experience dealing with the mods in a formal fashion, just as two forum posters, and I was not here for the 1st,2nd,3rd...80th? times that gballzack was on a tirade and subsequently banned. So I can not really say much about how good it is that they took care of that stuff. However, this latest example of troll on troll warfare does make me glad that someone took care of it. I'm sure almost everyone here agrees on that. Even those that were moaning about it weren't moaning about the mods handling it so much as the fact that it wasn't faster. Now, I am sure that everyone knows that mods have lives too and they weren't complaining so much about the mods but about the situation and the unfortunate circumstances that let that thread go on for so long.
Even if you think that the mods were wrong or slow in that instance I know for a fact that a few threads have been kept under control simply by a mod's post in the thread. Just immagine for a minute if the forum had far less mod control. We would be seeing threads like that not every blue moon but every day.
I think it would be nice for all the mods and ioi if we all just relayed thanks.
