Forums - PC - Help me build a gaming PC for 620 dollars

Yes, the Core i5 760 does support SSE4.1.  So it was indeed SSE4.x that you wanted.

Since the emulator requires two fast cores, Intel is better anyway (AMD gives more slower cores for the price usually).

This is temporary until AMD releases much better CPUs with SSE4.1 in April (Bulldozer) but as you are buying now I would say go Intel but don't go $100 out of your way to do it if you see what I mean.

It is a good PC, it comes with a good graphics card, the HD 5670. What resolution / how big is your monitor?

It is just a good all round PC, and you can play all the games and then decide if you want/need a new graphics card next year. It is up to date with DX11 so it supports the latest features.

Ok, I'll be getting that one then ;)

I'll be using my HDTV as a monitor... it's 32" and it's HD Ready (not Full HD :S). It can upscale the PS3 from 720P to 1080P just fine but I don't know if it will let me use the PC at anything higher than 1366x768 (the TVs native resolution). If it doesn't then I'll have to buy this:

I'll decide wether I want to buy that or not after getting the PC... but I'll get it later :S. I don't know what I'm going to do with the HDTV if I decide getting a monitor since I don't have any space left in my room, lol.

Thanks everyone for your help ;)

In that case, so long as you keep that TV you could max out near every game. That card can do sound over HDMI if you're interested.

That's pretty awesome then... I'll definetely try it with HDMI ;)

There's a guy I know who once told me he knows a guy who sells hardware and sold him a 5970 for cheap... I wanted to contact him but he's on vacation and will be returning sometime this week... I think I should wait and ask him if he can contact this guy to see if he sells the same computer for a cheaper price.

I hope I can wait :P
