SH4 itself

I actually liked it as much as I did 3. But overall, the first one is my favorite just due to the atmosphere and music...seriously, they nailed it.

But 2 has the better story, gameplay, and detail.

4 sucked imo.

Inventory system for the first time in SH and it wasn't cool.

Some weapons break, Some don't = unfun.

Repeating ALL the areas midway through the game is absolutely retarded. It's like same shit you just do it again with  a fucking escort -.-'

Not only are you bored from doing the areas over again you also have to watch out for her and her AI is stupid as shit and if she's like 3 feet awat from you you can't leave the room she has to be stuck to your pretty ass.

puzzles are braindead.

I liked the mobs and the fact that that I can't kill them and ofc the soundtrack was impressive as expected from Akira but the game as a whole was paaaaaain.

Edit: the story seemed interesting at first but then....

SH4 itself

edit : and origins.

The greatness of opinions. I thought The Room was a fantastic way to tell the story, and Origins was essential to the history of SH.

you kinda asked and kinda answered lol.

The Room was a fun experience.

My second favorite after the original SH.

I was living with my brother and his kids at the time, and my nephews absolutely got a thrill out of that game.

Since, I've always made it a habit (or at least try) to have someone around when I plan on playing a thriller game. Like, Blood Siren (which CGI recommended to me 2 years ago -yikes-) me and a friend took turns playing that.

What I'm trying to say sad.man.loves.lonely is that you should have some company around when playing games. Not every game is an RPG where you can enjoy it playing alone.

I see horror games as horror movies. I love both but I will never watch a horror movie alone, not because I'm afraid, but because seeing the priceless scared face of someone else or hearing them scream in horror is like the most satisfying feeling to me

3 isn't really one of my faves either, because it just closes off the original story (although Heather is my love ). 1 & 4 are my favorites, because they seem as fresh as ever, not to mention being stalked by Walter Sullivan in The Room never got old.

Walter Sullivan is one of the best game villains, IMO. Meeting him in the apartment for the first time was just.... But would you say he's better than Pyramid Head?

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

I actually agree with all your complaints but I still love the game and consider it my favorite Silent Hill.

lol. SH2, that piece of art, isn't perfect by any means either but it had lots of pluses going for it, for me at least.

I agree. to me Walter Sullivan is far more interesting.

Pyramid Head is way overrated imo. sure he was scary as hell when I first saw him in that apartment doing... that thing to the mannequins. >_>

I liked the idea of how he was a tormentor to James. He's not only a stalker wherever you go, but he always tortures the player mentally by doing things sexual related (like raping the mannequins, and cock blocking James whenever he's about to get some action with Maria, all signs of his lust).

No schools or hospitals. Boooooooooooo

Those locations MADE Silent Hill, Silent Hill. Ah well, what is coming sounds innovative for the series, although I'm pretty bummed out that Akira Yamaoka isn't doing the music this time around.

He quit right after SH:SM released.

I'd say he's different from Pyramid Head. Walter isn't as symbolic (even though Homecoming nearly destroyed what Pyramid Head represents). In the game, I'd be much more afraid of Walter. In reality, I'd never mess with The Red Pyramid.

Pretty agreeable.
