Forums - Microsoft - MS: "No intention of abandoning core"

Here is proof that Rare is working on a core title:

"Mundorare was given an alternative by Rare and they chose not to take it. They should realise you cant dictate to Microsoft Games Studios and Rare the rules.... they are very strict when it comes to this sort of thing. They should have taken any deal on offer and be grateful for it.

As for Rare's future......

There are over 200 people working at Rare, a lot of them being old favourites like Chris Sutherland (the lead banjo guy), Robin Beanland (director of music, conker and jfg music), Chris seavor (we all know him!), Louise Ridgeway (director of art and voice of berri), chris marlow, chris mcfarlane, gosh so many others to name. Don't forget the two current directors of Rare were there from the start, previously leading development teams and playing a major role in creating the games we love

there are dozens of teams working on projects right now, a lot have been postphoned, merged and scrapped but ultimately, they are going to get through eventually

when I was at Rare a year ago, Robin Beanland and even Mark Betteridge (the big director of Rare) both indicated how much they would love to develop another Conker game. We all know Chris Seavor would too. It's just a matter of time folks. They know what games are good and they want to make them.

It might also interest you to know that our former Kameo musician who left Rare for some travelling has also recently done some more music for Rare for a project under NDA.

To top things off... I am heading back to Rare next year and this time I'll be allowed to do a lot more then before.

And as an extra treat... this year is all about Kinect Sports.... but next year... expect something in the action/adventure category"

Yeah that's the ones, and yeah I heard that they scrapped the last game, just wasn't too sure if they've already made two or three games.

I think it was published by Microsoft, not sure if that was the one, but I think Lost Odyssey had the usual "Microsoft" entry screen that you get on the exclusives, the whole green and white background thingy with MICROSOFT appearing in the middle.

1. They had a two game deal with MS, not 3/

2. That was not being published by MS

3. The studio that actually developed LO is making a 360 exclusive(Mistwalker does very little developing)

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

That doesn't really discount kinect or n64 remakes as I previously guessed, though it is more hopeful then what we formerly knew

This whole Kinect thing sounds so familiar. It's like i'm watching arguments i participated in over the past four years replayed in the space of months

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Let's see this list is horribly flawed and I definitely wouldn't believe half the stuff on wiki..

KINGDOMS IS XBOX 360 ONLY - Confirmed no PS3 version

Epic (will be acquired before Gears is released)

No Proof as of yet: Already working on a multiplat no way MS is going to acquire it, EA probably will

They will see if Bulletstorm sells well to the PS3 audience and then decide what to do from there. Epic has already said they love working with MS.

Remedy (will be acquired before Alan Wake is announced)

Lionhead

Turn 10

Forza only we know

2K Marin (currently doing XCOM)

Not exclusive, currently 360/pc, MS owns no rights and has no ties, strong possibility it will go to ps3 if successful  - Again confirmed for 360 only

Ruffian

Stated that they are probably working on core

plenty of unannounced information, MS will be loaded in 2011-12 mark my words..

Your list was terribly flawed, please just stop.

Crytek (6 years partnership with MS - I would take this one over any 1st party on the PS3)

KINGDOMS IS XBOX 360 ONLY - Confirmed no PS3 version

Kingdoms isn't confirmed exclusive it's announced exclusive (big difference) and there is next to no information on it, though I was wrong about it being on pc, though it was MS that made the announcement but they've announced multiplats before we need more info

Firebird

http://www.gameguru.in/microsoft-xbo...-for-xbox-360/

got error 404

Epic (will be acquired before Gears is released)

No Proof as of yet: Already working on a multiplat no way MS is going to acquire it, EA probably will

They will see if Bulletstorm sells well to the PS3 audience and then decide what to do from there. Epic has already said they love working with MS.

I can't think of a single developer that went from 360 to multiplat that went back

Remedy (will be acquired before Alan Wake is announced)

http://n4g.com/news/545266/remedy-wo...-360-exclusive

So Alan wake 2 it is, or at the very least something with the same code

Mistwalker

I have a source, but I'll need to locate it

Until you do they are working on wii and DS only and haven't made anything for MS in 3 years personally I have a hard time believing they are now

THQ (working on 2 exclusives for 360 currently)

Will need to locate this one again

Until you do don't bring it up

Rare (working on AAA exclusive for core audience)

http://www.xboxygen.com/Focus/Interv...en?artpage=3-3

http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread...=645435&page=5

First 3 links didn't work

http://www.therwp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39431

Nothing stating it isn't a kinect title

2K Marin (currently doing XCOM)

Not exclusive, currently 360/pc, MS owns no rights and has no ties, strong possibility it will go to ps3 if successful  - Again confirmed for 360 only

Wrong on this one, it's announced for 360/pc, and since MS has no rights or ties it's completely possible it will end up on ps3 at some point

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/64184

Your list was terribly flawed, please just stop.

My list was the companies that MS actually owned and worked with in the past, yours is basically the same only with less confirmed information and with games that have no ties to MS and nothing keeping them exclusive

Adding one more..

Feelplus “large scale RPG”
http://scrawlfx.com/2010/01/feelplus...g-for-xbox-360

another one that doesn't work what is wrong with your links?

I wasn't aware anybody actually thought they would abandon the core. Sure I'd hear trolling about it, but no one would be so foolish to actually believe it.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Alot of rumors and non-exclusives in those lists, people are so quick to forget that anything that isn't published by MS can end up on ps3, and the more successful it is the more likely it is
