Here is proof that Rare is working on a core title:
"Mundorare was given an alternative by Rare and they chose not to take it. They should realise you cant dictate to Microsoft Games Studios and Rare the rules.... they are very strict when it comes to this sort of thing. They should have taken any deal on offer and be grateful for it.
As for Rare's future......
There are over 200 people working at Rare, a lot of them being old favourites like Chris Sutherland (the lead banjo guy), Robin Beanland (director of music, conker and jfg music), Chris seavor (we all know him!), Louise Ridgeway (director of art and voice of berri), chris marlow, chris mcfarlane, gosh so many others to name. Don't forget the two current directors of Rare were there from the start, previously leading development teams and playing a major role in creating the games we love
there are dozens of teams working on projects right now, a lot have been postphoned, merged and scrapped but ultimately, they are going to get through eventually
when I was at Rare a year ago, Robin Beanland and even Mark Betteridge (the big director of Rare) both indicated how much they would love to develop another Conker game. We all know Chris Seavor would too. It's just a matter of time folks. They know what games are good and they want to make them.
It might also interest you to know that our former Kameo musician who left Rare for some travelling has also recently done some more music for Rare for a project under NDA.
To top things off... I am heading back to Rare next year and this time I'll be allowed to do a lot more then before.
And as an extra treat... this year is all about Kinect Sports.... but next year... expect something in the action/adventure category"
