Forums - Gaming - Long single-player games this generation (40+ hours)

Galaxy games aren't 40 hours long, they can be completed in like 5-8 hours.

If you want to count getting all collectables for play time, then those open world games like GTA/Crackdown/Fallout/whatever can take a lot of time. How about side quests on games? They don't count because of what?

Tales of Vesperia.

Its the only 40 hour game you'll ever need. Ever.

GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.

Oh you can add Little Big Planet as 3.5 million levels would atek longer than 40 hours t finish ^^ also add LBP 2. Just the levels made in beta bring it waaaaay past 40 hours ^^

GTA 4 fot ps3/xbox clocks in way over 40 hours

Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

Off the top of my head - Resonance of Fate, Fallout: New Vegas, Star Ocean 4, The Last Remnant and EDF 2017 all took more than 40 hours. I played EDF for near 100 hours in order to complete it on the highest difficulty. Ahhhh, EDF, I love you.

I'm damn near close to playing Need for Speed Hot Pursuit for 40 hours. I'll probably end up just a little under.

I know its not an RPG, but i would add Castlevania on there, probabily about 17-20 hours. which i think is long for an action game, but of course not that long for the games in this thread!

and i'm guessing Fallout is very long as well, but i've never played it so wouldnt know.

All sandbox games are (most of the time) pretty long;..

Fallout new vegas as well although I guess it's less if you just do the minimum amount of quests to reach the end credits. Same with Oblivion and Fallout 3, pretty much any wrpg, you can skip most of the game.

Final fantasy 13 is also less then 40 hours if you skip all the extra missions on Gran Pulse. Not that anyone would do that on their first playthrough, finally a little bit of openness after 25 hours.

3D dot game heroes felt pretty long, but probably not 40 hours worth.
