I did sales in another thread. Just some random (mostly Japanese) predictions...
- PS3 will be the only home console to get an actual price cut this year ($100 across the board). Microsoft will reply by value adding with Kinect bundling in every SKU (effectively droppin gthe price for Kinect bundles by $100).
- Wii won't have a price drop this year, but Nintendo will announce it's successor at E3 2011, with a release promised for 2012. The Vitality Sensor will be canned for Wii and integrated into the controller for Wii 2. Announced launch games will include Waverace Resort and Ninja Gaiden 3.
- Dragon Quest X will be a holiday title in Japan. Nintendo will do a new color Wii hardware bundle for it (either Slime Blue or Metal Slime Platinum), and as a lead up promotion Square Enix will announce Dragon Quest I-VI for Virtual Console.
- Namco will announce a God Eater game for PS3, filling the void that Capcom left behind. They'll also announce the IP for PSP2.
- The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword will be delayed until fall 2011. It'll be Nintendo's big November release.
- Monster Hunter Portable 3rd G will be announced for Nintendo 3DS before the year ends, and will be the only version to release outside Japan. Capcom will also be announcing Dead Rising and Sengoku Basara games for 3DS, as well as a MVC3 port.
- Nintendo will handle releases for Level 5's remaining major DS games overseas (Professor Layton and the Trickster's Flute, Inazmua Eleven 2-3, Ninokuni: The Ebony Prince). SCEA/SCEE will also handle Little Battler eXperience, Level 5 will only selfpublish in the west on 3DS and home consoles (Wii/PS3).
- Square Enix will make both Final Fantasy Versus XIII (360) and Final Fantasy Agito XIII (3DS) multiplatform. Both will release by the end of the year in Japan, but they'll still be timed PS3/PSP exclusives there.
- Brain-Age 3D will be a 3DSWare title. The 3DS Virtual Console will grow to include Game Boy Advance, Game Gear WonderSwan/Color and Neo*Geo Pocket/Color titles.
- Tales of Xillia (PS3) and Tales of the Abyss (3DS) will both be announced for localization and western release in 2012.
- XSEED will drop their Falcom PSP partnership after Legends of Heroes: Trails in the Sky III releases at the end of the year. Falcom will begin self-publishing their previous PC games via Steam.
- Nintendo will release both Xenoblade and The Last Story in the west. Sony will release White Knight Chronicles II.
- After the surprise success of 999, Aksys will enter a co-publishing deal with Chunsoft for US releases. Titles will include Shiren the Wanderer: Fortune Tower and the Dice of Fate (DS), Zombie Love (DS) and 428: Shibuya Lockdown (Wii/PS3/PSP). Chunsoft will also announce heavy 3DS support.
- Gundam Vs Extreme will be announced for both 360 and PS3. It'll also release overseas.
- Sengoku Basara 3 Heroes will release for Wii & PS3, but won't get a western release.
- Team Ninja is actually doing the Wii Fatal Frame 2 remake. Nintendo will publish it worldwide.
- Sega will release a 3rd Mario & Sonic title for Wii/DS/3DS.
- Neither Inazuma Eleven Strikers nor Ninokuni: The White Queen of Sacred Ash will release in 2011 outside Japan, but they'll come in 2012. Ninokuni won't use Move.
- Time Travelers will contain story and gameplay elements from what used to be Ushiro.
- A Valkyria Chronicles game will be announced for 3DS. Possibly a conversion of the first game.
- PSP2 will have better initial support from western developers than Japanese devs. Expect lots of FPS. Meanwhile, the west will continue to overlook 3DS for the most part.
- The FF and DQ games "announced" for 3DS will be a Final Fantasy V remake and Slime Morimori 3.
- Megaten goes multi: Persona 5 will be announced for PS3 and 360. PSP will get Persona 2: Eternal Punishment and Persona 4 Portable. 3DS will get Devil Survivor II and Shin Megami Tensei 3D Nocturne. Wii gets jack shit. :/
- Hot Shots Golf 6 will be released for PS3, and pushed hard for Move.
- Mother 3 for Wii be unveiled at Nintendo's fall retailer meeting. It'll be in full 3D, looking similar to Fantasy Life on 3DS. Japanese release in 2012, with Mother 1-2 coming to VC beforehand.
