Forums - Sony - LittleBigPlanet delayed? :(

For a game to be delayed, it has to have a release date. Killzone 2 and LBP never had a release date, therefore, they were not delayed.

Have you considered a career in PR?

I'll give you KZ2, and if you notice, I never said that Killzone was delayed, only LBP.  Back at Sony's Gamer's Day, Media Molecule said that an open beta was on schedule for the Fall, and that a downloadabl version of the final game would be released sometime shortly after.  They also said that a BD-Rom version of the game would be released sometime later (around Spring) that would include the more popular maps for those without access to the PSN.

The American are still on for Spring. I don't anyone expected those to be released earlier than that ouside of NA and Japan.

Media Molecule is a European developer (UK), so why would the game release in the US and Japan first?

Because otherwise Europe would be getting major releases in a timely manner. I think there's a law that Europe is doomed to getting sloppy seconds from the gaming industry. I know it's a rule for Sony.

My advice to fanboys: Brag about stuff that's true, not about stuff that's false. Predict stuff that's likely, not stuff that's unlikely. You will be happier, and we will be happier.

Killzone was released simultaneously in Europe and NA, but Europe got an exclusive collector's edition of the game that NA did not. Sony didn't even bring the game to Japan, instead letting Sega publish the game there two years later.

Games developed in Europe are usually released there first, and the same goes for games developed in the US and games developed in Japan.

They never set a date, or even promised for that matter. Being on schedule for something but having a later release date is common, and disappointing, but not a delay.

At least it's not the RROD box

Yea for those people who have it, thankfully ive had a console since launch and no RRod and guess what.....

ive got games to play on it!

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.

Jesus christ its just a simple game where you move your guys around or whatever. Not like some epic, compelling story with huge worlds and giant bosses or whatever. It looks like a really good game (LittleBigPlanet) but I just have the feeling that nobody will ever get to play it.

What is wrong with these devs? They have shown complete-looking game demos since 8 months ago, and they're now telling us it will require another 12 months?

I mean, LBP should be on store shelves right NOW, and they should have been working on ANOTHER game for release by next fall. I just feel like these devs want to polish games too much, which is not really a bad thing, but the PS3 needs games right now, today, not in a year, geez.

I bet that each time you put in a new game you think to your self "I hope today is not that day it red rings", now that's a fear PS3 owner don't have to worry about. XD
