Forums - Gaming - Console Showdown 2010: Which console had the best exclusives?! (IGN)

thats list is full of crap mass effect2 is not an x360 ex doesnt matter if its this or next year its just NOT and x360 exclusive.

and they only base this of there own reviews instead of the overall lineup.

ps3's lineup of 2010 is bigger then x360 and wii.

3d dot game heroes scores also higher then 8 ssoo where is it?

Wii's always had the best exclusives, but this year was a real standout.  Both for 1st and 3rd party stuff.

I don't really see the point of doing this. Plus it's not even done in a fair matter. Unless they will also compare the overall line-up of every console.

Because when a game isn't exclusive to the 360 it means that it's also on the PS3. But it's not on the Wii. I'm thinking about games like Red Dead Redemption or Bayonetta.

So I agree that the Wii had the best exclusive line-up but in order to crown a winner for the year, I think it would be wise of them to compare the overall line-up.

Because it's obvious it's either the PS3 or the 360 in that case.

1) Which of the comparisons (total lineup or exclusives only) you think is most important depends on your perspective. A PS2 owner looking to buy a new console would care about full lineup. An analyst of hardware demand would be interested in exclusives.

2) If you think it so important, the data to make the comparison that you prefer is all available on the IGN website.

Never knew that PS3 won 2008 and 2009 from them.

For Wii, 2009 was a little more fun for me. NSMBWii was one of my top 3 games last year, and I guess because it brought me back to my childhood during the mid 80's, it's a win by default. This year does have Donkey Kong Country (which is my Wii GOTY) and Goldeneye, but last year was just a tad better for me.

Your second paragraph I'm with completely. 2009 was one of PS3's best years, but 2010 etches out the win. There was one disappointing title this year for me, and it's on PS3 (ModNation Racers), but God of War 3, HR, GT5, & PS Move (Sports Champions) more than made up for it.

Yeah 2009 was definitely good too. The reason why I like Wii's lineup in 2010 a bit more is that I like 3D platformers more than 2D ones (it wasn't always like this, but the first Mario Galaxy changed that a bit, I guess). So Mario Galaxy 2 beats NSMBWii for me. But 2009 and 2010 were both good years for the Wii.

To be honest, no exclusive game I've played this year was disappointing for me. The only disappointements were a few multiplatform games, but I hadn't expected masterpieces anyway before I played them.
PS3's lineup seems to get better every year and 2011 already looks promising to be even a better year than 2009 and 2010 IMO.

Indeed. Sony really seems to be stepping it up. Makes me think the PS2 is seeing it's final weeks/months, as Sony did the same thing when the PS1 was seeing it's final days.

That's probably true. I mean, the PS2 is still alive, but it's becoming less relevant every year.

And with all those titles coming in 2011 (and a few of them probably getting delayed to 2012) I also guess we might see some of these franchises for the last time on PS3. I could imagine that Naughty Dog starts working/focusing on a PS4 title already after Uncharted 3, for example. I assume that because Sony probably wants to have a really awesome lineup right from the beginning for the PS4. But we'll see.

@oni-link  are you kidding me???? Just cause I dont kiss the ass of Ninty doesnt mean I hate the company. Ive had a Wii for two years if I hated it I would have been sold it. I think the WiiWare is crap, NSMBWii was overrated IMO, dont care for the Wiifranchise of games, didnt like that they made Mario Kart easier, but lets get this straight right now, I DONT HATE WII. I just give my opinions on things I dont like about it. AS a matter of fact ive been on the PR trail for Goldeneye since day1 praticularly begging people to get it. I've praised Mario Galaxy 2 for being the 3d Mario game that I believe all 3d Mario games should have been like. Just cause I dont play it as much as my PS3 does not mean I hate it.

Part 2 up: Wii is a looser in that category and they did something very very very insulting. That's our title you can't spell ignorant............ EDIT: Just for the record, this is a joke

Family

#1 Toy Story 3 (8.0 US) - PS3, X360
#2 Kinect Sports (8.0 US) – X360
#3 Wii Party (7.0 US) - Wii

The Verdict: What are the games of 2010 that you'd recommend for young kids or would throw on when the family came over? For us Toy Story 3 was on the top of the pile. Simply put, it was an A grade slice of gaming for youngsters, with directed missions and a massive interactive sandbox mode, not to mention two player co-op. Outside of that, Xbox 360 had the ascendancy in 2010. While we thought Start the Party! for Move was a pretty decent family title, the Kinect range had a lot to offer, which is the main reason 360 gets the nod in this category.

Winner: Xbox 360

@morenoingrato  I dont see what the issue is, seriously can you elaborate??? Are you upset that you feel that the Kinect "casual" game wasnt better than the Wii one??? Or is it the Toy Story 3? In there defense the Wii version does not have the toybox and IMHO thats what made it stand out from all the other platforming games. THe Wii version is just a ok 3d platformer without it.
