The unfortunate reality is that AAA, high profile games have been far more graphically violent and vulgar starting way back last gen. Some of them aren't made for children, but for man-children. Some generally are adult without going over the top (Mass Effect series is a good example), but most just want to push the envelope. Yeah, it is disappointing overall, because so many of them ARE the AAA titles. As kids in the 8-16 bit era, those kinds of games you could play as adults or kids. Not so anymore. 'Kids' games are made for reeeeeally young kids and aren't typically AAA efforts. And adults like me that find themselves turned off more and more by graphic violence and vulgarity are left wondering how much longer gaming will appeal to me. You're not alone. |
So what,I was a kid in the 8-16 bit era. Remember doom and mortal kombat. those games were only under a microscope because videogames were considered nothing but kiddy, now Videogames are geared more toward an adult crowd. I fucking love how the videogame industry has evolved and how it's changed. I find if funny that people have a problem with violent videogames, but don't seem to have a problem when they see the same thing on there T.V. After all is just entertainment. I don't think I'm going to lose my dencey and morals, just because I'm playing a graphic FPS. This is'nt the 50's anymore. lol
