So I just beat brotherhood, it was really awesome. Personally I think I liked 2 better over all, but Brotherhood was a great continuation of it.

So I was confused at the end. Desmond is forced to kill lucy by the alien people. Seems terrible, but it would seem the aliens were just one step ahead and knew things that desmond did not. But with some investigation, the players can discern why.

So After a bit of digging and a couple of interesting tidbits I learned on youtube as far as I can discern, Lucy was in fact a templar. Taking desmond to the villa was a complete set up. Really interesting hidden easter egg

The liscense plates in the villa are incorrect. They don't belong to the area where the villa is. Some belong to a city 450 km away call balzano, and some are from....VATICAN CITY. BUM BUM BUUUUUM. Then of course there are e-mails about a van that seems to be watching them. Plus the "truth" this time has sbject 16 cryptically telling you that "she" isn't who you think she is.

So odds are she was a templar spy (other e-mails showed that other groups were having the same problem, moles on the inside). The templar were at the villa as well keeping an eye on things and they were just letting you find the apple.

After desmond kills lucy, The aliens tell desmond to find "her" and "go alone". I'm guessing it's the direct descendant of Eve, going by the truth video. He's probably the descendant of Adam.

In a quick voice clip over the credits at the end you here a two voices (neither being your partners) saying to put desmond back in the animus, and that he's gone into shock. Desmond manages to utter "no..."

So I'm guessing the templar were right behind them to pick up the apple, shit went south, their agent is dead, and they are plugging desmond back into the animus. What they still need out of him, I'm not sure. But I'm guessing in AC3 you'll be back in Templar hands and forced to visit some other cool location. At some point desmond will have to escape and the game will be about him.

One possibility as far as connecting gameplay with story is this. A problem with giving desmond too much freedom is that he needs an animus to go back into the past, and he needs people to operate the animus. So if he goes alone, it kind of takes out a key element of what makes AC what it is. But desmond is starting to have the ability to see the past even when he's not connected to the animus. Desmond could be captured by the templar, plugged into the animus and taken back to some other cool time period. The French Revolution? The Birth of America? I dunno, something cool. But then desmond gets to escape, and make off for finding a temple somewhere on his own, or look for eve or whatever, but being hunted by the templar, and periodically seeing visions of the past without the animus. So you get a couple chapters as desmond and a couple chapters of whoever his ancestor is.At least that's one possibility for AC 3 that would work to keep both stories moving.

Any body else have thoughts or theories on AC3?

Oh yeah, one thing I didn't like though was that they gave no closure whatsoever to ezio's over all story. Yeah, he got the bad guy in the end, but his story ends with a shot of cesare falling to his death. The end.

I thought it was going to follow ezio to his death as an old man, which would've been very emotionally powerful seeing as how we would've followed him for pretty much his entire life. In the beginning of the game Desmond even saw a brief vision of ezio returning to the villa as an old man, which I thought was foreshadowing the story, but alas it was meaningless. It only provides the implication that ezio lived to a ripe old age. And it does that in the beginning of the game and only in a brief passing blurb so that it has no significance or impact.

Are the leaving his story open just so they can make another game with ezio? I hope not. As much as I love ezio as a character, AC3 needs to move on. I just really wish we could've had some kind of closure on ezio's life.
