Forums - General - Any Beta Readers?

I'll keep this short.

I'm (finally) writing a novel that has been kicking around in my head in one form or another for a few years. Exempting half-finished chapters and unrevised drafts, I have the prologue through chapter 3 completed. If anybody--literally anybody, I want every kind of person, not just other writers--would be willing to give them a read and give me any level of feedback, and I'd be incredibly appreciative.

I'm a fourth year writing major, so even if you don't think it's that good, at least you'll (I think) be largely spared terrible grammar, bad spelling, and annoying things like that.

The book's untitled. I guess you could classify it as an epic fantasy, but more in the George RR Martin vein than your traditional stuff. No farmboys-with-a-destiny or villains-with-world-destruction-plots here. I'm generally a character-driven writer, and this holds true for this book---when it comes down to it, it's all about the characters. So if that's not your thing, you probably won't like this.

Anyway, just PM me or reply or something, and I'll email you a compiled document with everything I"m ready to share so far. I think it runs just upwards of 16,000 words---if you do opt to read it, take as long as you want.

Thanks in advance to anybody willing to take the plunge.

Crusty VGchartz old timer who sporadically returns & posts. Let's debate nebulous shit and expand our perpectives. Or whatever.

Sounds tempting, I'm not sure though because I need to read 2 books these 3 weeks and write summaries for precourse work.
