OT: 6 year olds can be extremely curious about things they don't understand. They can believe anything at that age. Use that for an advantage for the finger crisis lol. Anyways my parents made sure and hit me if I did something stupid lol. sheesh... Now I remember my older brother and sister hit me whenever i did something bad. sign.. :( I'm not saying you should do that by the way.

Just say it is wrong because it'll make people angry, and she'll have no friends using that finger. I dunno, that might work.

I think superchunk's idea of just telling her the right way to do it is a great first step. If it's too late for that or she actually knows what she's doing, then go for explaining the idea (not the precise meaning) of the gesture and why it's a bad thing to do. If it too fails maybe get your parents to stabilish a swear-jar if she has an allowance and they'll cooperate. If you can't do that, then just tell her you'll break her favorite doll's neck if you find out she did that again, and make sure to come through if she does :P

Just tell her quietly and honestly why it is a bad thing to do. Tell her it could hurt  people's feelings.

If you go off yelling at her everytime she does something wrong out of childlike curiosity it could scar her for life. TEACH HER THE WAYS OF THE WORLD lol

I think my parents would be putting money in the swear jar more often than my sister. As for the breaking the necks of dolls, I have that one saved up for another occasion.

About a half hour ago she walked into my room while I was watching an episode of The Good Wife, just when Khalinda was tongueing aanother chick. She then went running arround the house screaming sapphi_snakey's watching 2 girls kiss. Was that not an appropriate ocasion to yell at her?
