Forums - Sony - Photography experts: help me!

I'm SOOOO addicted to GT5's photo mode! Unfortunately, I don't know what the hell I'm doing. What do the options mean? I'm totally in the dark, so if anyone can give me a rundown on those things (like shutter speed, focus, sharpness, etc.) it would be greatly appreciated!

actually, the easiest way to learn is to buy a good camera and read the manual. You will then know what those mean and see the results better than the photo mode in gt5.

here is a quick cheat sheet:

shutter speed - motion blur

aperture - depth of field

focus - which part is your focus

ISO speed - how sensitive to the light

Btw, I love photo mode in gt5 too :))

Sweet,  does this mean you will be starting an official GT5 Photo thread?

maybe, if i can get to understand what that stuff means. i still don't get it. what iis motion blur? what is depth of field?

cmon, help me out here >< ???

The shutter speed helps with objects that are moving,  a faster shutter speed will be able to remove all the blur a normal camera would pickup.  Bascially making any object that is in motion look like it sitting still, if the shutter speed is fast enough.   Shutter speed really has no effect on objects that are already still.

so.. if i'm in photo mode, how do i get the car to look like its moving? i want motion blur for example?

es,  so you would leave the shutter speed to a lower level,  like 1/250 or 1/500,  if you want to remove it,  1/2000 or higher

but when i tried it on the photo mode, the higher setting or the lower setting didn't change anything.
