Forums - Sony - GT5 receive a HUGE launch party in Brazil

Why am I posting that? Because here in Brazil that does not happen often and the last launch party was the God of War III but nothing compared to what Sony Brazil intends now.

On December 11 real cars that are present in Gran Turismo 5 will pass through the streets of Sao Paulo marking the arrival of the game here. The cars will go through key points such as streets and neighborhoods known to the end stopped at Bourbon Shopping Pompeia.

There at the official Sony Style store will have the opportunity to play Gran Turismo 5 3D in a cockpit. And who buy the game should have your copy autographed by former Formula 1 driver Luciano Burti.

So that's crazy to Brazil.

How Sony is spending advertising the game here? And how many copies they expect to sell?

It seems that the lack of piracy on the PS3 gave a BOOM in game market here in Brazil.

GO GO Brazil.

What a problem having bought it overseas...

Nice to know, at least i can attend the party, and if my copy came before this i'll bring it there

Around the Network

I think that more than 50% of game sales of Brazil comes from Gray Market. So, it's impossible to have a accurate estimate of # of PS3 and games sold here.

For Example: I have a PS3 from HongKong, I only buy games from England, And my PSN is USA.

But Sony Brazil reports real sales here, not estimative of what Brazilian buy overseas... this other sales are tracked in other places...

And of course you are right... if we where to guess how many consoles and games there is in Brazil i would guess 2 to 3 times as much as oficial sales...

My PS3 and 8 games came from Canada with my GF, 7 will be coming from UK, 4 use on streets, 6 from retaillers.

You right and your PS3 is counted in EMEAA. And my PS3 is US (NPD tracked).

But the Sony Brazil sales was just Brazil... so the figures of 40k GoW III first month was about copies manafuctured here.
