Forums - General - Dozens of Israeli rabbis back call to forbid sale of property to Arabs

While I have to say it is disgusting to attack people's ethnicity and faith in such a demeaning manner. Hamas and Palestinian and Muslim leaders do far worse. Comparing Israel to Nazi Germany is going way to far, Israel isn't rounding up Muslims and executing them or throwing them in concentration camps.

I mean yes I can understand why Palestinians hate the Jews, but I can also understand why some jewish members of Israeli society hate Arabs.

Infact Arab countries treatment of Christian's, Jews and any and all other faiths is appauling. Why don't you write about the Christian lady going to be executed in Pakistan for defending her faith. or the Christian who was going to be executed in Afghanistan but got saved by Nato's pressure on the Afghan Gov. Or how about the Muslim organisations in Iraq calling for the ethnic cleansing of all Christian's in their country. or the Sudan genocide of Christians.

Jews aren't alone in getting upset with the arab world. Christian's are also being humiliated and tortured for their faith in almost every arab country known to man. Then lets not forget what Pakistani Muslims want to do to Indian Hindu's?

The arab world not just Palestine or Afghanistan the whole Arab world needs to open up and stop persecuting people for their faiths. If the majority of Muslim countries weren't out to slaughter all the Jews , Christian's , Hindu's and every other faith including their own Shiites and Sunni's.

If Islamic countries and leaders preached peace and mutual respect. Maybe not so many people of other faiths would have such dangerous and depraved views of their arab brethern!

You need to stop making shit up.  This is totally not true of the whole of the Arab nations, and it wasn't true at all until Israel came into existance.  I bet, for example, that you're unaware that every President of Lebanon has been Christian.

I'm not saying they should, nor shifting the blame away from Hamas, but you asked for proof that Arabs can't get out of the Gaza Strip, and it's there

And the IDF is definitely more disciplined than i made them sound, certainly. Much as i dislike Israel, their military is definitely top-notch in a way that even the U.S. could envy in a way, but what that disciplined force is being used for... well...

I actually wanted proof only for this part:

"and they do get mass murdered all the time from Israeli jets and random war machines."

But bolded the entire line for some reason...
The circumstances in which civilian casualties occur in the Gaza Strip are of such kind that the ones who are really up to blame are Hamas and other organization who only use the lives, and deaths, of Palestinians to furter improve their image in the media.

As long as there isn't some assualt on Israeli civilians (by firing rockets or other measures), and as long as they don't stand near Hamas leaders (which for reasons I described earlier, is very hard for the Palestinians), Palestinians have little reason to fear for their lives (outside of being attacked by the Hamas)

Yes, I'm sure it's Hamas's fault that Israel is willing to bomb UN buildings and hospitals with illegal bombs.

Yeah, i'm sure it is Hamas' fault for shooting out of UN buildings, and from within their vicinity.

It's also nice of you to try and prove my entire point by single ancedotal evidence :)

Well, in my opinion Israel has to keep it's culture intact somehow. They are just protecting themselves from being overwhelmed by a population that would be content withenforcing sharia law.

What stuff did I make up? I did know the President of Lebanon is a Christian, didn't know they all were but I don't recall to have said otherwise. Also in Lebanon if you want to talk about that country the Muslim Hezbullah and other organisations tried to whipe out the Christians and vice versa Christian militia fought back. The civil war wounded over one fourth of the Labanese population and lead to a mass exedus of Christians.

Name one part of my post that is completely made up? I might be alittle bias but I'm not just making stuff up.

That WOULD make sense, but my question is, why do homes have to be bulldozed as well?

Well, I would never choose to do so, but at the time:

One of the main reasons for pepole to become suicide bombers back then, was that they were promised that their family will get a very large sum of money after their death.

So, the Israeli government thought at the time "this will stop suicide bombing cause the money the families get won't help them".
However, obviously, it may have stopped some suicide bombing, but on the same time caused even more hate towards Israel which cause more pepole to join terrorist organizations.

And that's why they also stopped bulldozing buildings (i'm pretty sure of it), however, the damage was done.

It was wrong to do it, but there WAS logic (or at least, some of it) behind it.

Dozens of Israeli rabbis back call to forbid sale of property to Arabs

Dozens of Israeli rabbis today backed a call to forbid Jews to rent or sell property to Arabs in a move likely to further stoke tensions in some cities.

More than 40 municipal chief rabbis, whose salaries are paid from public funds, signed a letter in support of a ruling by Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu of Safed in Upper Gallilee instructing his followers not to offer accommodation to non-Jews.

Anyone doing so, the letter said, "causes his neighbour a great loss, and his iniquity is greater than can be borne". It went on: "It is incumbent upon the seller's neighbours and acquaintances to warn and caution, first in private and then they are entitled to publish him in public, to distance themselves from him, to prevent trade from being done with him, not to have him read from the Torah and so forth until he reverses his decision that causes harm to so many people."

Following Eliyahu's earlier ruling, an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor who rents out rooms to three Arab students in Safed was threatened with having his house burned down and was denounced as a traitor to Judaism.

Safed, which has a large conservative ultra-orthodox population, has become a focus of anti-Arab sentiment although rabbis in other cities have also warned Jewish residents against renting or selling to non-Jews.

The Association for Civil Rights in Israel demanded that the prime minister, Binyamin Netanyahu, condemn the rabbis' letter and take disciplinary action against those employed by the state.

"Rabbis who are civil servants have an obligation to the entire public, including Israel's Arab citizens. It is unthinkable that they would use their public status to promote racism and incitement," ACRI said in a statement.

Israeli-Arabs, who make up about 20% of the population of Israel, say they are facing increasing racism and discrimination.

Is Israel today's nazi state?

Your source disproves your point IMO, shio.

"Nazi state" implies a state like Nazi Germany in the 1930s at least, i.e. after the Nazis controlled the state.  You may be ignorant of this, shio, but one of the first things the Nazis did was to make themselves the only legal political party.  They suppressed dissent.

So when you post a story about extremist rabbis pushing an extremist worldview, and it shows a whole lot of more moderate people and organizations condemning them, it's clear that the extremists are not in control as one would expect of a "nazi state".

Also, the fact that the Nazis graduated to industrialized genocide, against the Jews no less, makes your comparison extremely tasteless ... not that that's anything new.  Try "police state" next time, if you're capable of that much restraint on the subject of Israel.

Ragebot living in Israel knows a lot more than anyone who disputes him on this. I'm sorry but he is privy to more information via his own eyes and the multiple media sources in Israel than any of us living outside of Israel will ever have.

As for these ridiculous comments equating Israel to Nazi Germany and the Gaza Strip as another Auschwitz. please cite your sources where there Palestinians are dying by the droves of mass starvation and thirst. All I hear from the US is Gaza being dirt poor in comparison to a lot of Israel.

I'm with Ragebot on this one just like I would trust the word of a military general over some journalist who has a deep seated loathing for the military. One is on the inside knowing what goes on day-to-day, while the other is on the outside getting their "news" from their sources and concocting their story with all their petty biases and loathing laced in the tone and wording of the "news."
