Forums - Microsoft - Halo Reach Still on pace to outsell Halo 3 lifetime

Good. Honestly the only thing I miss is Master Chief and the other characters from Halo 3, and some of the maps. Overall Halo Reach is a much better game, just with some hitbox issues and a overpowered armor lock. Otherwise It's the best Halo since Halo 2 which is just below Halo 1.

I'm really hoping Halo 1 gets the remake and online treatment because I feel Halo 1 had the best multiplayer out there. I just played Halo 2 the most because it was the first online Halo title and the best Live game for years.

It's just that simple.

We need a GOTY bundle in 2011.

Xbox 360 250GB with Halo Reach and Fable III. It worked with Halo 3 and Fable II.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

'tis possible, though the 360 doesn't have much longer to live, so it may not necessarily have great legs.

Perhaps, but I doubt it'll do it lifetime or beat Halo 3. Will cross 10 million though eventually.

Has a good 2/3 years in it, what are you talking about?

Well, next year should be a little up or down, most likely the latter, but after that, at least one next generation console will be launched. I doubt any home console will fare well at all then.

Like the PS2? That was outselling 360 and PS3 2 years after the next gen started. And it's unlikely we'll see a nex gen console until late 2012 at earliest, more than likely 2013.

Honestly, it's ridiculous to compare the 360 to the PS2. The 360 isn't anywhere near as dominant as PS2. Heck, it isn't even leading the market. Not even close even in its biggest region. It doesn't have tons of developing countries to sell to. Also, most of the budget buys after next gen starts will be stolen by the Wii.

Besides, PS2 sold so much after its successor because its successor was overpriced and had very few games. Unless you're suggesting that Microsoft is stupid enough to do that without the world's largest fanbase cushioning its fall, I seriously doubt the 360 will continue to sell after 720. I also seriously doubt  that it'll take that long for next gen consoles to release.

I don't understand it.  Halo Reach is outselling Halo 3 by a decent margin but it barely has even a third of the people online playing it as Halo 3 had at the same time.
