Missed out wipeout for ps3. And do ridge racer and formula 1 championship for ps3 not count? They may not be owned ip's but they're still exclusives.

Objectively, I'd say: MS/Sony tie.

Subjectively: Mario Kart Wii and lighttrax are the only ones I played. MK is brilliant, lighttrax is good and unique. I will get GT5 soon.

GT5:P should not be included in this list imo. Does WipEout not qualify?

To break it down

best racing sin- Gran turismo

best off road- motorstorm

best kart- mario kart, but modnation is such a close second that it doesn't really win nintendo any points

best arcade- WIPEOUT (probably best overall as well)

Racing is probably sony's strongest first party area

Ack! Corrected, I dunno how I could miss it (it's the one PS3 racer I'm REALLY envious of, especially with Nintendo forgetting F-Zero utter existance). :/

I'm not a huge racing fan. I like my racing fun and unrealistic. Every gen I try to have two racing games...last gen easily burnout 3 and f zero gx. One of those games this gen is Excitebots. Fast fun, wacky, unrealistic, and plenty of stuff to do. Mario Kart Wii has its merits too. Based on my interests, Ninty has the best. I get my racing quota.

In terms of overall quality I'd have to go with Sony. Motorstorm, GT5, and Modnation is diverse and high quality(barring load times of course).

It all depends on your interests and how much you love racing games. If you are a causal racing fan, one or two high quality titles can suffice. If you love racing a bit more, three or four is needed.
