Though we’ve confirmed the Move has sold 4.1 million units, there is strong evidence that the Kinect is looking to have “an installed base of 8 million by year-end,” says Pachter. “Depending on pricing, we could see an installed base that approaches 20-25 million by year-end 2011

 

 He's a sales analysist. This pretty much proves me right...take it!

But yeah .. it'll sell 8 mill IN 2011 plus 5 mill now.

It COULD make 20 mill by end of 2011, but more than likely xmas 2012. on it's 2nd birthday

I thought MS said they were only going to have 5 million units for the year.  They can't sell 8 million if they don't make them, and considering they're sold out at most/all places they probably haven't made that many.

No they said 5 mill sold, have you not noticed a theme with Kinect numbers yet? We havn't had any shipping quotes from them

they said 14 million shipped cameras i think. but i believe that means 7 million shipped because each kinect has two cameras...weird way of saying it on their part.

lol, never heard that one before, I'm thinking you have been listening to some people that don't know what they are talking about.

The only numbers I have heard from microsoft (and I read A LOT of game news) is the 5 million sold by the end of the year goal.  Of which they revised up from 3 million.

Also, there is no way in hell microsoft would talk about kinect as multiple cameras.
