Forums - General - What will rising price of silver mean for the electronics industry?

Iphone battery doesnt contain silver. More than that, electronic manufacturers doesnt use silver at all. Its not really price efficient compare to other metal. The only thing that use silver I can think of is Samsung silver care washer. So no, silver raising in price will not raise price of electronic. Maybe price of samsung washers, but thats about it.

Sorry about my late reply but I was preoccupied with the silent coup of my country without a shot fired (Ireland if you're wondering).

Well if silver doesn't affect prices directly it might end up doing it indirectly http://www.zerohedge.com/article/jpm-corners-copper-market-lme-says-not-worry-all-good

Also sorry I thought apple were using silver zinc batteries. My bad if they aren't.

Gold, silver fall on China-hike fears, dollar
Profit-taking also at play as bullion hit record earlier this week

Silver slides 5% on China hike fears. Of course, this is only a temporary thing, and probably won't take long to reverse, but I figured you'd be interested giving the nature of the topic.

Yeah I read about this. Thanks for posting man. You're right it will reverse. This will keep happening as they try and shake speculators out of silver, getting an average joe to buy high sell low, but most know silver is definitely up long term. Some guys will feel stupid today, but will be alot happier later on if they stick with it.
