Not a big sample size but I've seen comment in a few places (not here though) from PS2 fans who lament the lack of b/c in PS3 and as a consequence are not buying PS3 at $299 / the equivalent price in their country.
Question is, how big is that group of PS2 fans, will they ever buy a non-b/c PS3 and if so at what price?
I'm thinking there's a substantial number of people in that group, I think they aren't going to buy until PS3 is down to $199, but they will buy non-b/c PS3 at that price. But I also think if Sony wanted to they could introduce a b/c sku at $299 when next they drop the price of the basic PS3 and sell a lot of consoles.
Theres' got to be a strategy to get that demographic into the current generation. But what's the best way? They need to be brought over to PS3 if the 10-year plan is going to be a reality for PS3.
