Not surprising. Although I don't have a PS2, I still play the games from time to time on my PS3.

But it's not making much money for Sony, so it's economically insignificant compared to the current generation.

If you are interested in trying Ubuntu or Linux in general, PM me and I will answer your questions and help you install it if you wish.

not surprising given the number of them in the wild--i like the 360--shows that people that buy the machine really play it---where as people that buy the ps3 really dont, and then the wii is in the middle

Instead of seeking to convince others, we can be open to changing our own minds, and seek out information that contradicts our own steadfast point of view. Maybe it’ll turn out that those who disagree with you actually have a solid grasp of the facts. There’s a slight possibility that, after all, you’re the one who’s wrong.

"Nielsen measured the total amount of minutes its participants spent playing videogames, then divided those minutes between all current- and last-gen consoles. The PS2 obliterated the competition, claiming over 42 percent of all usage time. For each of the big three platforms, their last-gen predecessors saw more use than current systems."

More info:

"The data suggests that while the Wii has seen brisk sales this year, many of its purchasers don't play the console as often as those who bought a 360. It is also interesting to note the "other" category saw more use than the PS3, Wii, and GameCube combined."

well - wii, ds, 360, ps3 is selling more software. i think that's more telling than "total amount of minutes,...then divided those minute between all current- and last-gen consoles."

I can buy a game, but I don't have to play it. Bad example, but it can happen.
