Forums - Gaming - What you don't like of your consoles

PS3:
- Not all games have trophies (KILLS the motivation of the perfectionist I am, makes me play multiplats on 360);
- Trophies are basically a ripoff of Achievements;
- Most multiplats inferior to 360 ports (now this one really sucks);
- Not fully backwards compatible.

PSP:
- No trophies (WTF is Sony waiting for?).

360:
- Consoles die too often, crap hardware, bad controller recharge system (PS3 kicks its ass);
- Too many shooters, too little exclusives to fight the PS3 lineup;
- Must pay for online (at least it is good).

Wii:
- Weak hardware;
- No achievement-similar system;
- Poor 3rd party support.

PS3-

No cross game chat- That is all. If sony added this feature the console would be complete

psp

no trophies or friends list

only 1 thumb stick

EDIT: oh yeah and the resolution is shit, didnt matter first but now its showing its age.

ps3

a lot of playstation blog ideas sound easy to implement but are just being ignored.

first party studios are making 3rd party games look last gen. sony could be helping 3rd party developers atleast get native HD resolution.

average web browser.

pc

being killed by piracy, hackers and cheaters (FAR more than on consoles)

online servers pack more players than the maps can handle, leading to lots of grenade spamming and spawn killing.

mouse is great but using a keyboard for gaming is like playing twister with your fingers.

thats the number 1 voted 'idea' on the playstation blog.....like i said in my previous post, the playstation blog seems to be ignored.

its like they do something then go and check if it was asked for on the blog......it should be the other way around.

@twestern  i dont mean to be snide but when it comes to PSN. I think its you, how could you download something ten times??? As soon as its done downloading it says complete, dont see how you can miss that. You cant find your friends' trophies??? There the first thing you see when you click on their profiles(#s anyway) theres a big trophy icon at the bottom of the screen that says compare trophies, cant see the confusion. Yeah synching does blow, I recommend just simply not having your PS3 hooked up to the Network at all times. IMHO i think the PSN interface is simpler than the 360. I find there is too much crap on screen for the 360 but it does look better i'll give it that. THe only thing that I really hate about the PSN is that not all the download information is available for everything. THey tell you all the file sizes for videos and PSP stuff but the PS3 crap is all after the fact. Thats crap Sony

It has been a while, but it's just a bad and clunky interface for purchasing and downloading things like demos.  I'm never sure if I ever started downloading, how far along I am, is it through, etc.  I'm not really going to argue with you over your opinion, I'm just simply stating I've had troubles every time I've used the PSN.

DS:

DSi doesn't have GBA slot

Lack of analogue stick

DSi music player is crap. (low volume (vs ipod) and bad interface).

Wii:

No achievements type system

Friend codes !!!!!

limited used of online on first party title (online coop missing in NSMBW, Kirby, Donkey Kong, no online VS on Punch-Out etc...)

No Party chat channel while playing a game or else (like the 360 version) aka Cross game chat !!!

No wireless headset

Poor 3rd party support.( There is some Good 3rd party games but we need more)

Xbox 360:

D-Pad sucks, even the improved one is only barely alright.

Console Reliability is not as good as previous generations

Games are released with a lot more bugs.  I now expect at least one update for each AAA game I purchase.

Additonal hard drive purchase almost required to keep console useful - due to all the updates and DLC for games

Microsoft Forcing us to buy there hardrive for twice the price i can get it from a computer store. (I give a thumb up for ps3 on this one).

PS3

  • Shitty ports
  • Not many good split screen games (that'll change with LBP, Twisted Metal, R3, and Starhawk)
  • Not very popular in my area
  • receives a lot of hate
  • Sony focusing on Move too much. It should be not at all
Wii
  • Not as many games that appeal to me as PS3

freind codes

PSP:

- Lacks any games worth playing

- Terrible battery life

- Lacks dual joysticks for playing shooter games and other games that could utilize 2 joysticks

(I'm not trolling, I'm being honest)

X360 (I have the new one, so reliability isn't an issue):

- Honestly I can't think of anything besides that I have to pay for Live. Its a great console. I would say it lacks 1st party support, but has plenty of 3rd party support

PS3:

- Lacks cross-game chat, and the online in general just isn't as good as Live IMO

- It doesn't let me change the MAC Address (like the 360 does) so I can't use a wired connection at university, just wireless which isn't as reliable where I am (sometimes comes and goes).

- Long updates, slower loading time of games

Wii

  • Bad online, if the host quits the game is over =/, Friend codes
  • Takes ages trying to browse the shop channel
DSi
  • Camera quality isn't that good.
PS3
  • Every game needs installing
  • Multi-platform games are usually inferior on PS3 which is annoying because I'd prefer getting the games on the PS3 due to free online.
PSP
  • Badly designed. The power switch is located in such a stupid area that during some intense games in Dissidia I accidently switched it off. The AC adapter port is located too close to the sides that it gets in the way while you're playing. This also applies to the headphone port.
  • Long loading times, portable consoles shouldn't even have loading times which is why cartridge are better suited to portables.
  • Bad D-pad, very hard to use top diagonal right. Makes playing SF Alpha 3 very hard.
  • Terrible battery life
  • Screen is hard to see on bright days.
  • Can't play games online properly.
360
  • Crap D-pad
  • Unreliable
  • Have to pay for online.
  • Can't move console while game is in or it'll destroy the disc.
