Lol at ^

Go Finland.

Anyway, pretty useless analysis since then week 2 sales should be "normal" to your analysis.

Take my love, take my land..

Over 1.5m in Japan is possbile... this put it at same level of GT 2/3 and over GT4.

Title Units (K)* Release

Gran Turismo 5 “Prologue” 740 2007/12/13
Gran Turismo PSP 330 2009/10/01

PITA spammers. Decent analysis, I totally forgot GT4 had 6 days of sales. We'll have to wait till next week to see how sales will play out in Japan. Although the 20,000 sales in Finland isn't week 1, it's day 1. And we don't have exact sales for the UK yet, all we know is that it did 6% better than GT4 and GT4 did somewhere between 250k and 260k.

Proudest Platinums:
1. Gran Turismo 5
2. Persona 4 Arena
3. Wipeout HD
4. Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2
5. Super Street Fighter 4

GT4 did over 250k... could be 260k, 280k or 300k (not problable).

So GT5 sold at least 265k.

Thanks to Media Create weekly report, has confirmed the total copies sold for Gran Turismo 5, which when compared with the previous Gran Turismo looks a decline in sales, but it has a simple explanation.

First, here are the sales of Gran Turismo 5 reported by Media Create:

Media Create Noviembre 22-28 Media Create November 22 to 28

01.  / 00. [PS3] Gran Turismo 5 (SCE) {25/11/10} - 430,707

Now we present to past sales of Gran Turismo in Japan by Media Create and Famitsu:

Media Create: Media Create:
{12/27/2004 to 02/20/1905} 0014. [PS2] Gran Turismo 4 (SCE) {28/12/04} - 634,769

Famitsu Famitsu
{12/22/1997 to 02/14/1910} 0006. [PS1] Gran Turismo (SCE) {23/12/97} - 648,650
{12/06/1999 to 12/31/2000} 0010. [PS1] Gran Turismo 2 (SCE) {11/12/99} - 748,581
{04/23/2001 to 07/12/2009} 0006. [PS2] Gran Turismo 3: A-Spec (SCE) {28/04/01} - 468,391
{12/27/2004 to 07/12/1909} 0012. [PS2] Gran Turismo 4 (SCE) {28/12/04} - 663,543

If you look may see a decline in sales launch of Gran Turismo 5, but it has a simple explanation and is as follows:

First I must clarify that both Famitsu and Media Create weekly reports do 7 days of sales.

If you look good, Gran Turismo 5 only had 4 days of sales report, while if you look at Gran Turismo 4 had 6 days to report sales Media Create, Gran Turismo 1 took 6 days to report sales, making conclude only that if Gran Turismo 5 have reported the 6 days of sales as did Gran Turismo 4 and Gran Turismo 1, had sold the pair of them, because if we get average daily sales of Gran Turismo 5 we can see approximately 143.334 copies were bought to increase the average days plus 2 days, Gran Turismo 5 might well have reported at least over 600,000 copies sold.

Now here comes the more rare, apparently Gran Turismo 2 and Gran Turismo 3 was the best selling series in Japan because according to Famitsu numbers both games in 2 days reported sales of more than 600,000 copies, which makes the best-selling release date of the full range of Gran Turismo 5.

At the same time we let the sales numbers reported in other countries for Gran Turismo 5:

United Kingdom: approximately 265.000 copies sold, making it the sixth best-selling game on any console launch in the UK.

Finland: approximately 20.000 copies sold.

Spain: approximately 93.000 copies sold.

I always apreciate your comments, but the dates are all wrong (typos??), bolded parts.

I think there was an article that said that GT4 sold over a quarter million but it hadn't sold more than Halo 2 first week which sold 260k.

You are right.

http://www.chart-track.co.uk/?i=180&s=1111

So GT5 sold 6% more between 250k ( GT4) and 260k (Halo 3).

265 - 275k?

GT5 sells 100,000 copies in Italy, Week 1.

I mentioned in the other thread, unless it's a translation error it actually says 'over 100k'. Not entirely sure how that would translate in PR speak. I would assume somewhere between 100k-110k.

Actually, it's the sixth best selling PS3 launch title, not the sixth best on any console.

Anyone can guess. It takes no effort to throw out lots of predictions and have some of them be correct. You are not and wiser or better for having your guesses be right. Even a blind man can hit the bullseye.
