So i walked in whent over to the ps3 section.. Some old guy ... and a teenager (16-17) and mum were talking about the ps3 being 686$ if you trade in your ps2 and 12 games. So this old guy seems very tic'd off. He goes  Sony have fucked us over.. they got rid of the best ps3 to begin with (60gb), now theyve givin us the piece of crap..

This was his words "theyve taken out all the good stuff and givin us the shit" i go yeah they got rid of the backwards compatibility and most of the memory card apartment. He give me the freakest look. then the mother and kid standing to my left go.. Yeah my son had to get a ps3 imported it ended up costing 1500$ australian to get it. I couldnt believe i heard it. If he bought at the right time he could have got what i got Ps3 2 games and 2 controls for 986$..

i was so temped to say fuck you got ripped. i only wonder how long ago he got his Ps3.

Yeah, getting rid of backwards compatibility was HEAPS dumb. I guess it was to lower the cost. But to me, that was a big advantage of the PS3.

If you want a PS3 at launch in a country that isn't included at first launch, then you have to pay some more. It wasn't sony who fucked them over, they did it themselves.

i guess knowing what your going out to buy is always an advantage. i dont know if that kid was dumb or just a mummy and daddy kid. but i wouldnt pay 1500 thats like 6 weeks without sending money for me.

No Sony didn't screw over the idiot that paid $1500AU for a PS3, but they did screw over all the gamers in this country when they decided to remove one of their console's major selling points. I currently do not own a PS2, but would like to play a large number of second hand PS2 games. I will only purchase one Sony console next year. If they bring back BC without jacking up the price beyond it's already ridiculous level, that Sony console will be a PS3. If they do not bring back BC, I will purchase a second -hand PS2 for $80AU, and Sony probably won't see any money from me till I eventually buy a PS3 to play FFXIII (note that I am not obsessed, and will wait till the first price drop AFTER this game's release).
