A new video posted to YouTube Wednesday reportedly shows a man handling Sony Ericsson’s upcoming PlayStation Phone. While very little, if anything, can be gleaned from the video itself, the important takeaway is the very existence of this footage. The PlayStation Phone is now being demonstrated in various corners of the world, which means an announcement shouldn’t be far off. The blogger who played with the phone did have some interesting tidbits to share as well, such as specs that include a 4-inch touchscreen, Android 2.3 (Gingerbread), a dedicated game store, a touch-sensitive control surface on the slider, an 8-megapixel camera and some special PlayStation-themed live wallpapers. He also says that the codename of the device is listed as Zeus, which jibes with earlier reports.

Of course this is a bad video, but if you look closely you'll notice it does appear to have a split in the middle of the phone to slide out like the PSP-go and it is also running very quickly, which is good for those looking forward to Android 2.3. It also appears to have a decent form factor and the idea of a confirmed media library not only for this phone, but presumbably Android itself. A feature it is seriously lacking.

If true i will get this as my next phone in 1-2 years.

Why do they put an 8 mega-pixel camera in it? It would be pretty much useless and will rise its price more.

hmmm my iphone contract runs out feb. if this phone is actually good then i will pick this one up.

BUT 

i wont pay much for it. not after how lacking in support the PSP has been for games. i dont want to blow a load of money on something that may not get alot of games

They might change it and i have no issue with it.

Uh, I didn't see anything in the video that would suggest that's the PSP Phone. Just looks like a guy playing around with a smart phone. Am I missing something?

Supposedly the poster of the video is known for being good and one commenter suggests that at 1:53 the phone is rebooted and the screen looks like the Playstation xmb bar/logo thing.

All new smartphones now have 5 or 8. Since this probably isn't releasing until first quarter or so, they would have to put 8 to keep up with the market.
