Forums - Sony - Sony: You can't keep PlayStation Plus DLC

Shadowblind said:

Sooo . . . you can't keep DLC after your account expires? Or does this also refer to PSN games?

Brb, gonna go play 'Splosion Man without an internet connection now.

Anything free, other than Themes and Avatars, expire after your subscription is up.

think of psn like a online rental service

No it's not end thread, if someone is a PSN subscriber for a year, under the notion they get the DLC free, and then are unable to afford it for whatever reasons, you think that's acceptable?

Yeah, because they didn't read the terms of use. It was well known to begin with that games and DLC gotten for free would go away if you didn't renew your plus subscription.

Nothing is free.  Not even freedom.  Why haven't you all learned this, yet?

No, I'm talking about the actual model, it's terrible value for money.

Depends on how much you download, there has been way more than 50 bucks worth of free stuff and the service has only been up for six months or so.

This seems to be a "honest mistake" by Sony but I think being Sony they will generate a lot of flak this few days

How is it a terrible value?   There are planty of discounts they offer on PSN games. I saved $3 on Dead Nation last night, and when you break it down into months it doesnt cost much,  for me it only costs about $3 a month,  so I have already broke even this month.

Plus I have gotten to play games that i would never have bought because of this.  Plus I was able to start throwing games on my PSP, like the miniS, which again I would never have bought but am now enjoying.

Terrible value? The only things you lose when your subscription is up is the stuff that you got for FREE. In other words, you keep it free of charge as long as you are subscribed. If you sign into the PSN, you can see that this is nearly $100 worth of content that you can play for FREE as long as you are a PSN subscriber. The other $200 worth of discounts you get on games/DLC remains even after your subcription has expired. How in the HELL is that poor value?

Live is poor value.
