Work for Walmart, their paying $8/hr or come work at KMart, they pay $8.25/hr. Target only pays $6.75/hr, nobody wants to work for them. Sounds pretty good until all three corporations get together and decide $5.50/hr is the most their willing to pay employees. Or when profits are down one quater and $4.25/hr is all they can 'spare'. Unfortunately, once profits start soaring again, theres no legal requirement for them to raise employee waiges. Their only obligation is to investors (stockholders).
