Forums - Sony - Just Wanted To Know People's Black Friday's Observations About...

Or more specifically, how well they think Blu-ray will do this holiday season.  I ask this because on the way into my local Wal-mart on BF, I noticed that at least 70% in line had a 32" Emerson HD TV.  Some even had 2.  I believe Wal-mart had them on sale for $300 or $400.  They also had 2 Blu-ray players on sale for $65 and $69.  Now, most of the sales were 5AM to 11AM, and I got there at 5:30.  It already looked like half of the pallet with the Blu-ray players were already gone.  I also noticed more Blu-rays were missing from there temporary shelves than DVD's from theirs.  Something tells me Blu-ray sales are going to be pretty good this holiday season.

I usually don't like anecdotal evidence, but I was interested in what others have observed and thought.

Around the Network

I think retailers are pushing hard to replace DVD with BluRay. I think that is evident by all the BluRay sales at Best Buy , Walmart and other retailers.

Yea, this is actually the first year I went shopping so early.  Last year I waited til the end of sales (around 10 AM), it was less crowded but all the good stuff was mostly gone.  But this year, wow.  It was choas.  Kratos would have had a ball.
