Forums - General - Are you following The Ashes?, who are you rooting for?

Not much of a test match fan myself. Much prefer the 1 day matches and the 20/20's.

I only know the meaning of "the ashes" through Douglas Adams' books, but I have to ask...

Is it true that sometimes there's a tea break during cricket matches? An indian aquaintance of me told me something of that sort a long time ago.

Now that sounds like a laid back sport.

Test matches go all day long for 5 days...there is a lunch break and a tea break to prevent people from dying

Due to work I won't be following it as closely as I have in the past. Having said that I will watch it as much as I can and will obviously be cheering for the Aussies.

Btw what were the odds that there would be a hat trick on the first day of the ashes. We're off to an an exciting start and I'm just hoping for a competitive series.

I think some Indians would have taken your beat with reasonable odds just ask the Pakistanis.

That sounds dedicated, and a little weird :) I suppose it also takes a special kind of public to follow it live.

Yeah...but hardly anyone watches test matches anymore...except the ashes, which still has some interest from people...

Peeps these days mostly watch T20 cricket.
