Forums - PC - Steam's Give & Get Sale (24-29th Nov), HUGE Discounts and FREE Games!!!

If you liked HoMM, you'll love King's Bounty. Massive game, tons of completely mad quests and characters, lovely graphics and music and a charming sense of irreverence throughout. The only problem I had with it was that there a couple of unscaled encounters early on which will see you get stomped- you're not supposed to do them until later and unless you have a certain scouting skill, you won't realise (they're easily avoided anyhow). Other than that, it got a bit repetitive about 45 hours (!) in.

If you fancy leading an army of hundreds of snakes, knights, bears, spitting plants and necromancers against the demons haunting your helmet, dive right in. It's ace.

Well it's  a mixture of HoMM like battles with real time exploration so you lose the strategic aspects of resource managment and upgrading your towns but instead you have quests to make like in an RPG.

Battle system is enjoyable altrough AI suffers from similar flaws to those in heroes series, graphics in game are lovely (kinda fairy tale or disney movie style) but game has very small requirments for hardware. Story is funny and aims plenty of jokes at classic rpg themes

It get's a bit repetive after 30-40 hours

I'd rate it as below Homm 3 and Disciples II but ahead of HoMM 4/5 and way ahead of Disciples III.

Damn. I bought L4D2 during summer sale for 10€ and now it's 5€. I have played it maybe one hour after I bought it. =D My backlog is just too big.

Just bought Galcon Fusion, Left 4 Dead 2, and the Indie Pulse Pack.

Wish I knew about this sooner.  I would've at least bought the other Indie Packs, and probably something else.

Tough decision. $5 for L4D2 is amazing, but a Valve complete bundle with a discount on top of it is robbery. Depends on how much you want to play the other Valve games.

Personally I'd go for L4D2, because $5 for it is really low and you don't know how much the Valve bundle will cost on the holiday sale. If the Valve Bundle does indeed get a huge sale on christmas, and you buy it, you won't lose the L4D2 copy you got before, instead you'll have 2 L4D2 copies on the same account, and you'll be able to gift one of them to someone.
