Forums - Sony - Sony Admits It Made A Mistake With Move

so they basically made a good mistake? lol

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

It's good to see it exceeding expectations

@squilliam  They didnt BELIEVE in Move, I like that that was brilliant

I have not seen Move out of stock in my immediate area, which should represent the WW situation, since the week it released in the USA. This sounds like Sony making up stuff again to me. It is harder to find a Kinect sensor than it is to find anything Move related.

Fixed for you.

@ OP

Yea, Sony definitely didn't expect Move to open so strong.  Most online retailers are still sold out of stand alone controllers.  Some are sold out of various Move games and/or bundles.  Hopefully, Sony can have more available by Black Friday.  I know Amazon doesn't think they are getting anymore til the 28th.

Sony's the retarded one that made like 2 million Move Bundles that are still all over the place in stock and not enough Move stand alone controllers (the only thing I see out of stock anywhere).

what i dont get is why people are buying just the stand alone controllers. you need the PSEye camera which costs $30 by itself. so its cheaper spending 99 on the bundle and getting the game with everything else.

well you could have up to 4 wands for one camera so someone could buy a bundle and 3 wands.  The wand seems to be the thing most often sold out.  Since people wouldn't buy two bundles and the navigation controler might not apeal to everyone.

This is a huge mistake for Sony. This holiday season is their chance to knock away at the Wii's lead and fend of Kinect. If they don't sell enough units will this thing have legs? I think with Christmas sales if they are understocked they better have some killer software to reveal for next winter or Move might slow down and possibly even die.

If Sony implements Move in most of its future games it has a chance. But if this holiday is the biggest its going to get then Sony is in a very bad position by under stocking. In all honesty Move is sold out in the city I live in while Kinect is still on store shelves this either means A, Microsoft over shipped or B, Sony undershipped and judging from this thread it is the latter.

I hope the Wiimo.... I mean Move gets alot of support in 2011. If Sony can hold gamers and casuals attention another year.

In my area the wand is constantly out of stock, as well as the sports bundle. The other bundles have poor reception and the nav controller basically is a luxury good.

Hmm, I'm not sure if Sony made a good or a bad move.

imo sony made a good move it is better to underestimate with new tech, unlike kinect which is not selling up this could be a bad thing for ms in the long run as they have invested loads into it, now all sony has to do is up the supply and problem solved, we got a big delivery of move in today so it may already be getting sorted

it's the future of handheld

PS VITA = LIFE

The official Vita thread http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=130023&page=1

thats great news. @ people claiming that there local stores have tonnes of stock doesn't equal the globe so dont come down and prove false because one store has some stock

Also Nintendo fans should be in Glee and happiness. Because with the MOVE success you might start seeing higher quality games being sold on both PS3 and Wii because of Move. Even Move game ports in the future from 3rd party would still end up higher quality then some of the wii games around.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong
