Forums - Sony - Sony solves screen peaking!

Kotaku is reporting something really cool that Sony is doing using its 3D tech. Now we think of 3D TV's as tools to give us 3D displays but Sony has something else in mind.

In regards to that we have some new technology that we've shown to developers that uses 3D techniques, it allows two players to play full screen multiplayer games but without each being able to see the others view, and they have been massively keen on them," he continues. "There's lots to come." Can't wait! -Mick Hocking

Thats right with PS4 we could be looking at playing games with others on the same TV. No screen peaking getting the full screen to ourselves. Now I think if Sony does this they could also make the PS4 a multi-use device. Somebody could watch a movie on their screen while another plays a game. With headsets your audio could be split between the two.

Isn't this amazing, anybody think of other things Sony could use this dual screen technology for?

it is amazing

this could very well bring Split screen multiplayer back in a big way

but this is old news

If it can be used for 4 player shared screen that would be great. 2 player shared screen would be good, but so often you want to play 3 or 4 players on screen at the same time.

awesome but old news

If this is a full fledged feature for PS4... I WILL buy a 3D TV just for this function. Split Screen Gaming is so important to me and to see a tech like this going to be implemented in the future is incredible.

It was posted like a few hours ago. If its old news why is Kotaku only reporting it now? I never heard of it till now. Do you have any articles about it from the past?

Old news and kind of useless coming from a company which barely does split screen. Its like a shoe maker claiming to have solved motion sickness in trampers.

Tease.

As others have said this is old news, and is also an obvious application of shutter based 3D television ... In fact when I heard about IMax introducing shutter glasses based 3D over a decade ago I had this idea.

Indeed, because as we all know, only first parties make games for a given console.  ¬_¬

So watching porn in plain view and no one else can see it?
