Forums - Microsoft - Kinect xbox 360 bundles hard to find?(Anecdotal evidence)

I went to a lot of my local stores today shopping for the holidays and It seems that there is a shortage of kinect xbox 360 bundles. Now I did see a ton of stand alone Kinect units however when it came to the 4g or 250g kinect bundle I did not See any.

This could just be in my area but I did stop by, Wal-mart(food for thanksgiving), Best buy(shopping for new samsung tv), Gamestop(picked up donkey kong country-Pre-ordered dead space 2), K-mart(layaway). Non of these stores in my area had kinect xbox 360 units.

I did count about 20 stand alone kinect units at Wal-mart alone. So is kinect selling well to new customers and not existing? Is M$ stocking the wrong units? All this is up in the air.  What is your take on all of this?  Is it the same in your area or is the opposite? Is it all out of stock or overstocked?  Let me know what your Anecdotal evidence is.

I forgot to say Happy Thanksgiving and happy Holidays.  Putting up the lights this week, Competing with my sister. Electric bill is going to be no good. Feel free to put some tips up.

it's the other way around at most places, stand alones sold out but bundles in stock (at least the 4 gig anyway).  Looking at my Best Buy district numbers that covers all of utah, idaho, and montana (which is anecdotal as well)  only the 250 gig bundle is universally sold out, with the standalones almost all sold out.  4 gig bundles has huge amounts though.

However, from what I hear, the stand alone is about as hard to find at other retailers as the 250 gig.

There is a problem for MS when amazon hasn't received anything kinect-related for 2 weeks.

Seen some 4g, no 250g and a few stand alone.  Heard that they are moving like pancakes. 360 going to dominate.

Hold up what? problem that they can't keep up with orders? So not really a problem but a High demand product.

They did, but it was sold out 2 days after.

The Xbox 360 4GB with Kinect was available for a day or two.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

In the shops in my town in Japan all the 250G Kinect bundles are sold out. The stand alones and 4G bundles are all in stock though.

Some MS executive said it may become hard to find over the coming week 'so get one now'. Personally I scoffed and moved on. However thinking back there may have been truth in it rather than useless banter.

Tease.

On Sunday the 21st the Target in Daly City south of San Francisco had 4GB/Kinect bundles and a few standalone Kinect kits.

I've seen one form of Kinect bundle in stock (usually the 4GB bundle) every time I'm at a store that sells consoles. Those were the first standalone kits I've seen at retail though.

Target doesn't seem to keep a lot of standing stock of video game products despite being one of the larger retailers. I'm guessing this just means they receive orders more frequently.

I have been seeing that 500,000 at work. pepsi, cereal, fastfood and tons of stuff.  From the looks of it, it's working in there favor.
