I think this album is definitely a HUGE contender for AOTY, I've had it on repeat so long, I've played almost every song over 100 times already. I would say its tied with Late Regristration as his best work, if not better. For me, I'd say its one of the best rap albums in the last decade. Most definitely better than Recovery musically, but not lyrically. Kanye West really improved lyrically on this album, also. The guest performances were very good too, he used everyones strenghts and it really showed in every song. I really can't find much wrong to say about this album, its one of the most consistent ones I've heard in a good while. This album is definitely a classic, and if he somehow tops this with his next album, I'll be utterly shocked.

From what I listened to yeah it'll get nominated atleast though I don't really think it'll win since it will obviously go to Beyonce since she's the greatest performer of all time...of all time. Plastic Beach is my personal favorite this year as its the only thing that stood out for me. and now he's in love with a stripper.. I mean porn star.

Plastic Beach was a great album...I enjoyed Demon Days a bit more though, seemed like every song on that album seamlessly flowed well together. I read somewhere that a new Gorillaz album may be coming VERY soon, can't wait.

Yea, they ussally do a remix album a year or two after (G-sides, D-sides) but they recently just released Doncamatic, a track not even on Plastic Beach and it already got a music video.

I am shocked to read this honestly, Runaway vocals are disgusting with a very pretensious music video imo. does the rest of the album follow the same direction of runaway?

Yeah, I like this song too. My only guess would be it didn't fit the overall concept of the album or something, and he decided to either release it as just a single or for their next album.

The vocals, unbelievable honestly. Why doesn't he produce music instead? does he really have to sing? I know this is a personal opinion but my god my ears lol.

The video, I am not sure , lately many pop artists are trying to sell their hollow pop music as something "deep" and I thought "runaway" was no exception.

I definitely understand what you're saying their. I won't name anyone, but their are a lot of pop artists doing that lately, and people are actually believing it and then believe that actually makes them "deep" and a lover of "art"

I come to somewhat believe that he is indeed a genuine lover of art, though. I was watching some of his interviews and streams or w/e earlier this year and he was naming artists that had a lot of credibilty in the underground scene and/or fashion world, etc. that inspired him and has worked with him. This album, the production on it is very good, its top notch, he definitely went all out on it. There isn't much singing by him, that's probably the only song he really tries to sing on, and one more where he sings for a little while. He leaves all the singing to everyone else, like John Legend, Bon Iver and Elton John (More like back-up vocals though, he also does a very nice Piano Solo in one of the songs), etc. I think you should give it a listen, lol. It shouldn't disappoint, I hope. :P
