O.K. My friend has been asking his parents for a 360 for a long time. Three weeks before his b-day, his parents told him a 360 will come in the mail on his b-day. He excitedly told me, and I was very happy for him. But, everytime he talks about the 360, I tease him with the whole "red ring of death" thing. Two weeks after he gets it, the 360 malfunctions. He sent it back, & has commented that he is dissatisfied with the custumer service. I feel bad for him, and hope that in the end, it turns out O.K.

You only jinxed your friend if you both said the same thing and you yelled JINX first. If that is the case, he owes you a Coke.

 Is that really how it works I'm bringing Jinx back then... and instead of coke I'll replace with Dr. Pepper or Vinalla Coke.  

Unless your friend knows you're going to say jinx and then says jinx when you do and then says it again.  In which case you owe him a soda.  Beware the jinx effect.

 Unless you know your friend will yell jinx so you both say jinx and you both say it again and then you yell jinx and he'll owe you a soda.
