Forums - General - Nude protest against body scanners at German airport

Personally, idk. I'm  a fatty with a small penis and if someone gets a kick out of that who isnt' my wife, well then bring her over to join the mile high club.

Basically, I think everyone is making a big deal out of nothing. These are not really nude video scanners, you can't see that clearly based on the 'in use' settings and the viewers are private and blocked from everyone else.

Rather have this than potentially dying.

These Scanner only serve for the Big Brother purpose, and maybe for spreading cancer.

Remember: When a terrorist is payed by CIA, it doesn't matter if you have scanner or not.

You have way more chance of dying by cancer than in a plane.

The fact is: they turned these thing On even without doing a properly research and showing the technology, that should being avaible to all scientists.

So you think the government wants to look at your weiner?  Would you be okay with it if the machines were remodeled to eliminate any greater risk of cancer?

Roughly 81 percent of Americans support using the technology so I don't think there's going to be any change about it at this point either way.

humm if it was proved that would not cause any risks of disease AND that they don't store any info or image of your scan, then I would be Ok.

Not sure about whether these levels of radiation are truly a concern seeing as radiation on planes is much higher (over time, and that is a lot longer than a scan time) at cruising altitude anyway.

Still, I've never been through an extensive search or scan at an airport, frankly both options sound a bit invasive. Besides they seem to demostrate those scans with hidden guns a lot of the time, and that's something the old scanners would pick up as well. Also, they are skin deep, so how long before they decide to check your body cavities like they do in prisons >_>

Overly sensitive people are overly sensitive.

Well I was listening to NPR earlier today and they had a guy on there talking about how the body scanners have been found to have no significant effect on the development of cancer by a couple of reputable institutions.  I remember john hopkins, FDA, and the National institute of Health.  I don't have a link for that now, but I'm sure the story will become more prevalent in time.  The other thing he stated was that TSA policy says those 12 and under are mostly exempt(think like 99% of the time, they only wouldn't be if the person they were with was high on the watchlist) from pat downs.

Oh those scans are in a database

And the power these TSA inspectors have.... the Israelis are much better at this, they don't have to feel little kids up to keep the airline safe
