The latest game in the (second) best SRPG series is coming soon (to Japan) and a new trailer is up on JPSN. This looks great, can't wait for the EU release (sometime in 2010
).

Eh, I wouldn't call them the second best SRPG series. I'm not sure i've played a SRPG game that's had worse gameplay. WAY too much grinding involved.
The storys are always funny and top notch though.

Frankly, getting to Level 9999 looks like a lot of work.... seriously...
I am a PC gamer, and also have a NDS now, but without access to a Nintendo Wii until End of 2007.
Currently playing: Super Smash Brothers Brawl(Wii), Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer(DS), Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime (DS), WiiFit(Wii)
Games Recently Beaten: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King (Normal; Very Hard after the next DLCs become available)
1 word: RTFA
Disgaea is pretty cool - but I didn't get very far in it because of the grinding and because it was just so...daunting. Over a hundred classes, multiple endings, geo panels, level 999 (or whichever it was)....
#2 seemed more or less like Disgaea v1.25, and it looks like this one will be v1.50...just more of the same.

uhm that wasn't 4 million damage...
it was:
four hundred and thirty-six million nine hundred and twenty-five thousand nine hundred and sixty
or
436,925,960
thats a lot of damage =P
Fire Emblem > Ogre Battle > Jeanne D'Arc > FF Tactics (and Advance) > Disgaea in gameplay, but that doesn't mean they aren't great games in other ways. The humor is second to none. ^_^

Shin Megami Tensei is a strategy RPG? Granted, I'm playing the original right now and know next to nothing about the sequels, but that one is a straight up RPG, at least.
Now, Fire Emblem > Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre > Final Fantasy Tactics > La Pucelle/Disgaea (II)/Phantom Brave/Makai Kingdom is something I can get behind!

Sorry haha no. What happened was I meant to put Jeanne D'Arc there initially, then I realized I hadn't and edited it to add Jeanne D'Arc, but forgot to delete SMT haha. I have a habit of typing one thing when I'm thinking another.

I'd agree with this list in principle. Tactics Ogre is tough, because Let Us Cling Together, is way better then "The Knight of Lodis" since they got rid of the CT system in "Knight if Lodis." I'd put LUCT ahead of any Fire Emblem though personally. Humor is second to none for sure. I wonder if Nippon Ichi will stick with the PS3. They likely chose then to begin with because before this generation started it seemed like it would be the run away success.

Disgaea is the definition of hardcore-only game. That is why its sales were never so high. Pretty solid game IMO. I just wish Nippon Ichi would come up with new ideas, all their series feels like some sort of Disgaea parallel dimension.
