I hope it gets released after the game so people won't see inFamous 2 and think "oh a game based off of a movie, nah".

Anyone who is likely to think that would be MORE likely to buy Infamous 2 I think, because those are the people who buy movie tie ins in the first place.

Not only that, but if the movie holds somewhat true to the game people may leave the theatre wondering what comes next, since it would most likely leave itself open for a sequel.

Few weeks later, bang, they see inFamous 2 on store shelves.

Yeah, I was thinking about that cool.  It's kinda neat honestly.    The synergy.

Want to play Infamous 2 but don't know the story?  See the 2 hour movie.

Though I wonder if that effected the game or the movie.  Is the movie strict in that sense?   Is the game going to follow the movie's path by "Defualt".  (You can load your Infamous 1 char to 2 right?)

This is real?

And we haven't seen so much from the movie as a confirmed actor list, and it's supposed to be out by the middle of next year?

What?  o_0

Edit:

And then there's the little Legendary Pictures logo at the bottom.  You know, the company that currently works exclusively with Warner, and will continue to do so until 2012 at the earliest.  Yet their logo appears alongside that of Columbia Pictures, a company owned wholly by Sony.  Yeah, this is totally bogus.

Honestly, I don't understand how things like this even get reported as "news".  Anybody with even basic analytical capabilities should be somewhat skeptical of a poster like this appearing out of the blue, and said skepticism should lead to one noticing certain fairly obvious discrepancies that prove the whole thing is a sham.  Plus, the poster in general looks like a bad 'shop of some Infamous concept art.

Maybe it's an animated project?

It'd be a shame if it's not true...

It's such an interesting premise, having a movie about the original come out right around or right before the sequel to the game comes out.

I mean, it'd be great to see if one bumps the other or vise versa.

Yup, fake.  Made by some guy on Deviant Art.

Touche.

I suppose my post came off rather harsh, and I hope you didn't take it the wrong way.  It was aimed primarily at PS Beyond for duping people by posting "news" stories without bothering to conduct even a minimal amount of fact checking.

You were merely a victim here!  As was everyone else in this thread, including me for a few moments.
