The software the 360 has in Japan isn't on the same selling-power level. What 360 games sell like Final Fantasy, Yakuza, MGS, or GT? I'm not arguing whether it has games that Japanese gamers want, I'm arguing that PS3 has more, and MUCH bigger titles.

Woah woah woah woah woah... hold on a sec. You are changing your argument here. First off you said that MS didn't have many games that appealled to Japanese fans. Now you are just saying that the PS3 has more.

At the time of all MS's exclusives PS3 barely had any. No Squeenix support and very little support from Namco Bandai. They didn't start getting all their games till just recently(in the past year or two, besides MGS)

Because Racist is not the right word even if the Japanese people decided to support Sony blindly, they are being patriotic and nothing is wrong with that.

Racisim is very ugly.

also:

Most of the games you mentioned are suck!

the xbox was suck.

patriotic =/= racist.

The 360 was released with RRod, a very faulty hardware by the time it was fixed the ps3 and 360 became almost identical.

The ps3 still has MGS,  GT and FF bluray (isn't bluray big in Japan?)

Ps1 and ps2 were epic.

There are westren products that sell in Japan.

patriotic=/= racist.

EDIT: This post has been moderated. -d1

Yes, toastboy had a poor choice of words, but it really isn't worth locking the thread for.

Not all the games I listed "are suck" as I had a lot of fun with most of them, and some of the rest were "big losses"(as some Sony fans said) when they went multiplatform.

Also take a look at the thread. the point is to say something nice about the other consoles. Saying the Xbox is "suck" doesn't sound very nice to me :P

The 360 never had major system pushing software in Japan, and it still doesn't. That's what I'm saying, and what Reasonable was saying. There aren't many titles on the 360 the Japanese audience go for.

Plus, the argument didn't change at all. Daroamer asked what the differences in software were between the two in Japan.

Star Ocean 4 and Tales of Vesperia, there aren't many larger series in Japan...

Edit: Add in FF XI and Monster Hunter Online.

Edit to go on my original post: How did I forget Chromehound? O.o

Maybe not, except stuff like Metal Gear Solid, Yakuza, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and Pokemon. I'm, just saying you took Reasonable's words out of context. He didn't say it had nothing, he said it doesn't have many.

First off, the 360 already had a FF game. And at this point in time the PS3 didn't have a GT, or FF. And I think you're putting a little too much faith in the Yakuza series(But i'll have to check the numbers).

Secondly Reasonable was/is wrong. I posted a really nice big list of games from all genres and they were only exclusives(or exclusives at one time) meaning I didn't even list the nice big list of Japanese approved multiplatform games.

Finalevangelion's reason was much more sound and made much more sense...

Edit:Here's his post

For all that are saying that Japan is xenophobic or racist, let's put it in a different perspective.  I'll say what I said in another thread.  Imagine if a Japanese company like Toshiba or NEC released a game console in the US and their entire game lineup consisted of games like Rorona Atelier, Tales, Anime slice of life games, etc.  They were all anime styled games where male protagonists looked like girls (thinking of what ticks off western gamers the most).  How would US gamers react to that?  They would probably avoid it for the most part (albeit, I would love it personally but I'm in a 5% minority).

Then, the next generation, the said company decides to throw in a few shooters to cater to the American audience.  What would happen?  Well, sales would increase a bit, but the previous generation where the said company completely disregarded gamer's taste in the US would leave a bad taste in their mouth.  After a few months of trying, the company gives up and doesn't release anymore shooters.  Most of the American audience would be glad they held out and didn't buy into the company's product.  This is the scenario in Japan with the Xbox.

Edit: On my original post: How did I forget Phantasy Star?!? That game is huge in Japan, no? >.<

Dsister, go back and look at the sales of the games you listed.

Just draw up a comparison real quick, will take no time at all.

i like my ps3 because it only does everything :)

it seems alot of people arent interested in the games anymore all they care about is the sales and the business side of things

PLAYSTATION®3 is the future.....NOW.......B_E_L_I_E_V_E

Blue Dragon:
 200K
>20% attach ratio

Idol M@ster:
80K
Released in 07. =10% attach ratio at the time?

Lost Odyssey:
100K
10% of current attach ratio(even though released in 2008)

Eternal Sonata:
See Idol M@ster

Enchanted Arms: <--- Just plain Flopped :P
20K in japan in 07.

Deathsmiles:
45K great for a Schmup

Furthermore I don't see what you are getting at. This isn't a question of sales it's a question of having games that match Japanese taste. Which the 360 certainly does

Your point?
