Remember back in the day when it was PS1 VS N64? It was just like, who has better games I'll pick their side.

Now you have companies buying timed exclusive dlc, excessive bindling, the race for motion tech, patriotism (People who wont buy 360 because it's built american), blue ray, and the race for net flix, dis shits crazzzy! Let's all take a moment to ease the console wars by saying something nice about the console you think should be below your favorite console. I think the size and reliability of the wii is nice....now it's your turn!

The console war hasn't really changed all that much, to be honest. Same stuff, different paint job.

You must REALLY be young.

I was a proud and joyous NES owner that also loved Sega arcade games.  So out comes the Genesis and I picked one up (only console I never bought; thank you Mom as you rest in peace) and some of my friends and others acted like I defected to the Soviet Union.

Oh, and then there was this: 

Consoles wars have been HEATED ever since this point.  Maybe they were when the Atari 2600/Colecovision/Intellivision gen was around too, but I was too young then to notice.

Oh, and if I had the money I would DEFINITELY have a Wii and PS3 too.  There are many great games in their libraries that I would really love to play and they've kept MS working hard to keep me happy as a 360 owner.

My least favorite console, the Xbox 360 - which I owned until couple weeks ago.  The ease of playing your own music was really nice.  Also, the fact that there were no copy-protected saves which is my least favorite aspect of the PS3.

This thread shows your young age. If you really think it was any different back then, then you're only kidding yourself.

And by the way, when you say people won't buy an Xbox 360 because it's American, I assume you're referring to the Japanese. This claim has been debunked so many times, I honestly just don't know what will convince people anymore.
