My PS3 died this week too! I had to reformat everything to get it working. Hold the power button untill it beeps twice and see if you can go into safe mode. Try 1,3,then 4. If none work format it and maybe it'll work.

This might work thats what I did to get mine working again. Good luck and I hope you backed up your saved files. I didn't and I will never buy downloadable content again thats not on my pc.

How does losing save files have anything to do with DLC?

to do what clown is saying it requires you to wipe your entire hard drives memory, so you lose everything. All the tv shows, everything was lost. Still your PS3 works again.

TV shows and gamesaves maybe, but DLC can always be redownloaded from FREE, anytime after you've bought it. So I don't see why him having to erase his HDD has anything to do with never again buying DLC unless he was referring to movies.

Easy man.

Glad to hear, it still doesn't change the fact that I hate to get anything downloadable because I have lost hundreds of dollars worth of content in the past. Hardware fails no matter what type. I have even backed up my Hard drive and the external hard drive and it also stopped working . Jump drives break or are lost. So I say fuck anything that has to be downloaded. Sorry.

I understand the frustration, but I don't understand the logic.

Gamesaves can't be recovered from a crashed HDD. If you've downloaded all of the DLC for Fallout3, LBP, and PAIN and your HDD crashes, no biggie. Either switch PS3s or install a new HDD, sign in, get on the PS store and go to your downloaded list and requeue up the DLC. Come back in a few hours and install.

I'm just saying that game saves can't be recovered, and DLC can be recovered with the few pushes of a button for FREE. So why is it that you're willing to start all over on your gamesaves but not on your DLC? It really doesn't make sense.

RIP PS3 ShadowSoldier.. You are grossly missed.

ShadowSoldier, and all those others who have lost their comrade in arms, my commiserations.

My PS3 is still running since release day, with the only hitch being a duff Blu-ray drive a year back. I do worry about it overheating and I changed the thermal paste which has helped somewhat but it's still running loud, even now i've moved it into the open of the living room (much to my girlfriends displeasure!)

Hope you get yours working again. I love everything about the original 60gig, so superior to everything else.

The only problem I have now is that it seems I have to format my 60GB's hard drive, and lose everything.

"In video game terms, RPGs are games that involve a form of separate battles taking place with a specialized battle system and the use of a system that increases your power through a form of points.

Sure, what you say is the definition, but the connotation of RPGs is what they are in video games." - dtewi
