First the xbox live price hike, then selling a new x360 controller instead of selling it together with the new xbox 360 S and now this?

R&D, manufacturing, packaging, shipping, marketing, retailing...I think 149 is quite fair to start with. No one is forced to buy one.

Come on, if that's the reason, why didn't Sony sell the ps eye and the eyetoy at 100/150 USD/Euros at launch? If I'm not mistaken, they were sold at 50 USD at launch.

Wake up, X360 people.

Oh, yeah, this is Micro$oft, greedy as always.

EYETOY IS A DIFFERENT STORY. 150 is not a bad start off. MS has to make back the money they invested at some point.  every company is greedy. Thats why there as big as they are, because they are there to make money.

It also comes with a game and the kinect camara.  $150 gives them room to drive down manufacturing cost and  cut price if needed.

Seems that a lot of people don't see it as a bad deal. I bought it but Maybe other people are just cheap.

Really?  You call MS greedy and you have a Nintendo character as your avatar.   The company that has only dropped the price of its console by $50, rarely lowers the price of its games, and then charges around $20 to make the controller more precise(motion plus).  Nintendo is making so much profit for a reason, they are greedy.  There's nothing wrong with that, that's business, but to call MS and not Nintendo greedy is ridiculous.

Why are people criticizing profits? Profit is what make capitalism work, makes it great.

So MS is profiting $100 from each peripheral sold?

And I paid $150 for mine? . . .

Not cool.

Yeah, and it's totally not cool that Call of Duty costs $60 in the store when it only costs $2 to make the disc and box.  Do you realize how much time and money was spent to make this thing work - to make the dashboard and app changes - to make the game that it ships with?  The $150 does not solely reflect the cost of making the physical item - just like it $60 does not represent in any way what it costs to make a retail game disc box.

Because of the very fact that the BOM of PS Eye wasn't 56$, but approximatly <10. Kinect is a  lot more than Eyetoy.

But I'm off. Too tired to the deal with such childish fanboy BS. As I said before, no one is forced to buy Kinect. Bye.
