Atlest you finally admit that you have ulterior motives, but the only fact is that you were wrong about shipped, and you're wrong about this aswell.

Yeah... I'm wrong about the shipped but this doesn't change the difference between Microsoft and VGC.

You cannot base his being wrong about sold vs shipped on ulterior motvies. Companies have NEVER given sold thru to customer numbers since I've been here....almost 3 years. NEVER. I don't even think it's EVER happened unless very extenuating circumstances.
@heruamon
Greenberg "LOL"ed at our 3-day total. MS just reported on a 10-day total. 3 days =|= 10 days. Our 10 day shows 1.3M, and MS says over 1M. I don't understand how you can possibly confuse the two. :P

It was stated that it was sold to consumers, then he tried to spin it as "Retailers = MS consumers", if thats not ulterior motives then I don't know what is.

it could mean a lot of things jadedx. It's not just consumers that buy kinect from stores, but ebayers and second markets that pick them up as well. Tack on to that fact is they have no real way of knowing unless those were all plugged into consoles, and let's face it. At least a quarter of these things are going to be xmas presents. So that's a dead end.
Really, all they can track is restocking orders, and there can be considerable problems with tracking that way.
Look, I'm not saying they're lying or making up numbers or anything like that.
It's just that it's NEVER done, and it makes one look for possible explanations. There simply is no tracking possible at this level except restock. It has nothing to do with bias or fanboyism or anything like that. It's simply how it works.
For example, stores don't wait for supply to run out before they re-order. A store chain could have ordered 150k of them for the entire xmas season and then saw 100k of those disappear in 8 days. Obviously they would reorder right away, but that doesn't mean that the rest has reached the end user.
Now dont sweat it. Don't get mad over the numbers. You never know. MS could come out and take that back, or even improve the numbers, who knows. Just don't take a "sold to consumers" report by sony,ms, or nintendo too seriously. Because its LITERALLY, never done.

Same can be said about any video game system/accessory coming out, so should we not count COD/Fable/WII sales since they can be bought by second sellers and because some will be under the tree till christmas? Really, all they can track is restocking orders, and there can be considerable problems with tracking that way. False, they can get information from chart-trak and NPD

addressing the bolds in numbered order
1) except that those numbers are never given as sold thru to consumers. So, there is no real comparison there. Just can't do it.
2) NPD does not track every store and seller. They get info from the most they possibly can and have to estimate the rest.
3) False. All sold to consumer numbers are estimates.
keep in mind jaded, there have been instances where NPD and vgchartz had different numbers and NPD changed theirs to match ours. We've, at times, been more accurate than NPD.

I've never seen that, but that bings me back to my original point, "over 1 millon" could mean that the vgchartz numbers are accurate, In the past few months MS has posted 3 diff numbers for xbox 360 shipments 42,, 44.5, and 45 million. I'm 100% sure that MS shipped more than that when they posted those numbers, but they like to round off by .5.

This. Actually 10 days MS and VGC numbers are quite compatible, it's just Greenberg that mixed up 3 and 10 days numbers and basing himself on that wrong premise LOLed without a valid reason at VGC. So neither MS nor VGC were wrong, but just Greenberg. And for some unknown reasons some people feel bound to defend him even against the hard facts.
